I don"t want to play Texas Tech!

I know the SEC is more physical. I know we have the best athletes... BUT...I'm getting very uncomfortable watching this Tech offense.

Can anyone stop it? Sometimes I think the have elevated offensive football into something strange and unstoppable. Obviously the have decent athletes,,, but the offensive scheme seems unreal.

I'm no football genius. But I've never known Texas to play "soft" Defense, yet Tech seemed unstoppable against them.

OK, I'll say it... could Bama score enough points to beat these guys?

Please don't bring up the Cotton Bowl from a three years ago. This Tech team is 40 points better than that Tech team.

Could Saban figure our a way to stop these guys. 250 lbs linebackers look good for SEC smash mouth football. But would our D work against this craziness?

On a side note, I want the BSC championship game, but I get the feeling that one loss puts Bama in the Rose Bowl versus USC IF Ohio State drops one more.

What you should ask is what would our offense do to them? They haven't played a smash you in the mouth football team this season. We would run run run and hold the ball. If Harrell doesn't have the ball they can't score points. I also think our Defense could hold their own.

Why should Alabama fear anyone? These teams that run smoke and mirrors offense almost always get exposed against dominant defenses.

You say not to compare this Texas Tech team with '05. Why not? It's the same-type offense that we completely shut down. Sure, they're better, but given a month to prepare, I'm confident our coaching staff would put together a game plan to TCOB.

Tech's bread and butter is the WR screen. Did you see the way Bama played the WR screen against LSU? I know tech does it better but Saban is a better defense coach than leach is offensive IMO. Bama would win that game with clock control and 300+ yards rushing

I'm just saying I would rather play USC or Texas or anyone over that Tech team.
 
Herrell will be presured from all sides wich this leads to bad pass's wich means YAY more INTS for the Tide!! Cause we have a great 3 - 4 Def but Crabtree is a threat and Javy will prolly cover him!! I would believe...
 
Oklahoma will beat Texas Tech, so they will not even be in the BCS National Championship game. I think Texas got a few lucky breaks in there game against OU, and OU will be ready for TT and that will take care of that.
 
Texas Tech looks good against lame defenses. Put them up against ours. Not to mention, where are they going to find the time to score 55 points when Bama has 5 or 6 minute drives?
 
Florida will be our toughest opponent. If we beat the Gators, I think we'll beat the Red Raiders more convincingly than we did in '05. Our defense is much improved since then.

How do you figure this?? Through 10 games this year TTU has scored 482 points. Through the first 10 games in 2005 TTU scored 479 points. That's 0.3 points per game difference (not quite 40 is it?). Also, in case you haven't noticed, Nick Saban's defenses eat WR and RB screens for lunch.

so that makes you 70 something, Nebraska didn't have much fear of TT a couple of weeks ago, they lost 31-34, and only after a husker defender intercepted a pass on tt's game winning drive, only to fumble it back to tt on the return. he holds on, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I find the title of this thread offensive to this team after all they have accomplished this year , jmo

I also agree this thread should be deleted. What kind of Bama fan has such a defeatist attitude when we're 10-0? Bama is legit and can beat anybody. Go to the Aubarn board and peddle that smack. We ain't buying it here.

while I agree with you that I also think this Bama defense can stop their offense, it's also true that the scheme we are running right now is completely different to the one we had in 05.

All I'm going to say is... Mr. Harrell, meet Rashad Johnson. :biggrin:
