UTE Fans are slightly confused (closed for smack)

I was on their board Utefans.net. They think we are stealing their crimson team color (didn't have a sports team until 1916) and according to team, we haven't been to a bowl since 2004. Very confused fans.

We may have stolen ours from Harvard, but whatever. There are many schools with that color. They must not have much to talk about...

I love that they have a disclaimer saying no smack talk, yet the entire thing was loaded with smack talk. If that was not smack talk then what is?

Reading their board is like listening to a bunch of ants clamoring about why the elephant won't take them seriously.

Their ambassador yesterday was correct: definitely a chip on the shoulder.

The format for their board is...very odd. Never seen one like that before. I visited and tried navigating/reading some of the threads but finally just gave up. And yes they are a bit chippy.

Definately 'bizzaro world' over there. I agree with RoTyde, it's like pre AlGore internet! lol

I'm on a conservative political forum with alot of 'Ute' fans. Some really do look down their noses at us down here in The South.

I have a friend who lived in Utah most of his life, attended BYU for a short time then transferred to UA and graduated. He told me the Utes are best described as the Barners of the West.

I just read some of the things over there on the site linked, and I thought Utah people were suppose to be religious & good mannered people. I suppose I don't know what people from Utah are like. I'm sure their have their bad fans just like any fan base does, but I can't believe they allow some of those things to be posted on their site............:eek2:

I sure hope Utah fans come to realize we are good folks, and just love our Bama football. Should be a great game, and I'm shocked they think Bama will be taking this game lightly.
Especially with Saban at the helm......

I agree I post as Cougarkiller over there and, there has been some crap posted overthere that is just over the top.

I have to say I have only been treated with respect over here, and that also say that that isn't the normal Ute fan. I expect he will start to get blue stars (which is bad)

Welcome aboard, snowute. Maybe you can answer my question concerning Utah's mascot. How does Utah get to use a native American mascot, while others (FSU has special permission due to the Seminole Nation) are threatened with sanctions by the ncaa to change theirs? :conf2:

We'll the Ute tribe which is native to Utah gives the school permission to use Utes as our nickname much like FSU. Also instead of having a Ute warrior ride into the games like FSU we have a Red Tailed Hawk named Swoop as our mascot.
