Game Thread: other games for Saturday September 13

Well, of course, our eyes are opened to how good we could be this year if we clean up some things, and hope we make it to the playoffs (and even better, win it). But if the fates say my Aggies won't, I too am happy we did it to the Irish. I've been to a game in SB, horrid fan base. If this...

Game Thread: other games for Saturday September 13

In our defense, our schedule this year is more of a product of letting those with the bovine persuasion into the conference than anything else. Will be happy when we have the 3-9 format set. It wasn't lost on me we may be benefitting from it this year. But offline Aggies would welcome better...

Question: Who should be our 3rd Permanent Rival?

Long time, no see Bama folks. Decided to make my way over and see what others were saying. It's funny, but seems most schools are struggling with who the "third" should be. Looks like you guys are having the same debate. Won't happen, but I'd absolutely love if ours included you. But...

Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC today

Not sure I agree with this. Of course, as a Texan, I'd like to gloat that other state schools really want our recruits. People tend to make that claim. Reality of it is though, there's simply more headcount here. It's just numbers. There are more people just in Harris County (Houston area)...

Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC today

I probably have the best insight into this, being a refugee from both the SWC and the Big 12, and now having been in the SEC for 12 years only to see former conference mates again. As someone noted above, it is in fact the even revenue sharing that, if kept in place, will prevent Texas from...

    "Bucket List" item

Resident Aggie here... I think this thread is about the bucket list for getting around SEC stadiums and road trips. I agree with the sentiment someone mentioned above on visiting OU. If you can, I very much recommend the trip! We don't have a rivalry with OU, so mine is a balanced...

What are the Best Traditions in College Football?

No prob. Hope it was interesting at least to some extent. Maybe if not "interesting," hopefully it simply added context that the vast majority of the "oddities" at least have root in the school's military ties. To be honest, the sway you're referring to doesn't have a "direct linkage" to...

What are the Best Traditions in College Football?

Howdy Bama... We'll miss playing you this year. I dropped in randomly trying to take my mind off work (been crazy, we're going through another merger). I saw some props and some typical detractions on our traditions, so thought I'd chime in (as if anyone cares anyway ;)). The mix of props...

    Congrats, Bama

Well, he made a great move. At least our Women's Tennis won a conference title or two recently ;-)

    SOONER PULLING FOR THE TIDE

Texas Aggie here. Definitely make the trek to Norman next year! The OU campus is pretty with the buildings all being similar red brick. I can't recall what it was, but adjacent to campus is a nice area of bars and restaurants that sort of reminded me of Northgate at A&M. And Sooner fans were...

    Congrats, Bama

Resident Aggie here. That was one helluva game, congrats to CNS, the team and your fans on the season and victory tonight. We're going to miss playing Bama every year with the new conference alignment. I was pulling for you simply because in our meetings the last 12 years, good impressions...

    Howdy Bama

I won't say good luck today, obviously we want our own team to win. But here's to an intriguing, clean, and hopefully extremely entertaining match up without any injuries. For those that travelled to Aggieland, hope you made a point of walking around tailgates and mixing in with the locals...

    Week 6: Alabama @ Texas A&M

I assume you mean your brother lives in Houston, so he probably knows the routes. But if not, avoid Highway 6 and 290 intersection at about 2 - 2 1/2 hours before kick otherwise you be stuck in a line of cars making that turn north. It still moves, but will easily add 1/2 hour to your drive...

    Week 6: Alabama @ Texas A&M

Haha... Fair enough. As I mentioned, I realize to outsiders, it's weird. And yes, the "fables" are sporting jokes about the other team. But what's funny about it, even the crowd of 40,000 or so Aggies attending know the jokes will be stupid (it's kind of tradition that the Yell Leader's...

How the West was Won: SEC Shorts

You may think of me as bias (Aggie here), but yea, net, the bad calls favored Arky, net. Biggest one was the "non-turnover" call. We clearly jumped on it and had possession, even the announcers were commenting and scratching their heads. The Arky score should have been more lopsided.
