Fully agree. Foster's leg is stronger, based on videos. But we will take Mandell as his backup for sure. That just shows where the program is now. The #5 ranked kicker walks-on knowing that he is most likely the back-up.

both Jay Williams and Buckingham are two step punters.

Punters should take 2 steps. Three step punters are more likely to get blocked. Two short steps is preferable. Long strides place the point at which the ball is punted closer to the line of scrimmage, increasing the chance of a block.

why did PJ have his best year this year? Experience...Expecting either Williams or Buckingham to punt every punt this next season 45 yards with 4.5 hang time is not realistic. The learning curve will be very real. Even for Buckingham in the spring game. He has never punted in a college game...
