What would be gained by naming QB1 at this point? Or any position for that matter. I'm sure the coaches know how everyone stacks up. But there's no reason to share that with the media.

I was referring to their ability to run the offense, not their physical ability, which are two very different things. Otherwise, I agree with your points exactly.

If the QBs are truly that close in ability to run the offense, two things will decide who is QB1: 1. Taking care of the ball and not making turnovers 2. Leadership on the field and in the locker room

Two things that aren't factored into the comparisons of CNS and CKD are NIL and the transfer portal. Those things have changed the landscape of college football so much that it's almost like comparing apples to oranges.

You can't win if you don't score. How many shots on goal did Balogun and Pulisic have? I haven't seen the stats but I'm guessing Belgium had twice as many shots as we did. I think they had 6 or 7 in the first 10 minutes of the match.
