The big thing is depth. Regardless of whether it’s Pierre or Hill or Russaw, all it takes is one injury that takes someone out for a significant period that puts you behind the eight ball.

he hasn't been the same since his injury. Smith and him are BFF and when both committed to Bama , it was a big coup to get both 5 star in-state on board. Smith was serviceable , but never lived up to the hype. good luck to Russaw.

Also might mean he and his agent are looking for more money, either from Alabama or someone else. So my guess is Alabama and Russaw might be at the negotiating table and he could return.

Veteran depth is hard to keep at this point for 1 position. I am thinking that without a raise Qua was asked to move to inside linebacker And he's trying to figure out the best way to get to the league.

Honestly if you go very strong 2 deep with Pierre and Hill plus guys you're bringing in.... That's depth. No more talent stockpiling.... You get your veteran and your incoming freshman like Hill and if you get more like Alabama had a linebacker this year for three veterans sharing two positions... Great.

Keeley and Russaw we also have been to pass rush oriented and not run defense diverse enough for the money

I'm not really concerned about any of these moves yet.

I imagine you take what you can get, he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire when he's been on the field. NIL might not pay well for " 5 star potential, 2 star appearances".

update: Rico Scott back with Alabama. that's good news. he has potential, just very inexperienced. he did make some nice catches and with more reps can be a weapon.
not too mentioned, unless we were getting some notable WRs, the roster was getting thin with pass catchers.

I was encouraged by his play early in the year.

This season was such a blur I can’t remember if he got injured or when.

But he was making a few recs almost every game the 1st half of the season and you could see flashes of talent.

I hope to see him develop more and possibly have a larger role.
