This all hinges on the salient point: The LEO should never have been in the position in front of the vehicle. Training manuals (I've cited here before) for both ICE and DHS are very clear about this.

There were umpteen ways to stop that woman from getting very far should she choose to bolt. Use of deadly force was not one of them.

Of course, the Keystone Kops in charge of Federal LE(FBI, etc) are determined to protect this guy, when he should be in custody.

It did happen Jan 6th. And that was a justified homicide as well, even though Bobbitt was unarmed. Another horrible tragedy that could have been avoided.

This is just my personal opinion. But, if it was me and i was simply videoing to get evidence, my first reaction would have been to get out of the way because hey, ive got her license plate already. Pulling the gun and shooting in the vehicle wouldnt have been on my radar at that point.

The current conservative wisdom seems to be that ICE tactics and behavior aren't relevant. States, local governments, and citizens should get out of the way and implicitly trust the federal government when it comes to immigration enforcement. The training is clear, you never position yourself in front or behind a car that may move. I've had this personally told to me by both a HSV PD officer and a Madison County Sheriff's Deputy this week and the training manuals were posted on one of the ICE threads. You approach from the side.

Both local LEOs (conservative guys) feel that the lady was absolutely wrong, but that the ICE guys were even more wrong in jumping out and approaching with weapons drawn in that setting. They both emphasized that this was a traffic stop and you do not escalate in that situation when you can get the plate and take care of it later.

I am sure this is nobody's intent here, but the best way to increase the number of fatal interactions between citizens and police is to tell the citizens that, if they think they are morally right, they do not have to follow directions from law enforcement.
And that threatening a law enforcement officer with physical violence will cause the law enforcement officer to stop engaging in behavior any particular citizen believes is wrong.
I have never been a police officer, but I just do not think police think that way. If you threaten a cop's security, bad things are going to happen.
