I'm not saying it is, but if we're going to play the "what if?" game, we should probably go all the way down the rabbit hole. See, here's the thing about ICE: I would MUCH rather not need them at all. LEOs aren't perfect, God knows, and some of them are proven sociopaths. How many times on this very board have I voiced my contempt for agencies like the FBI and CIA, who are absolutely RIFE with corruption? As a (small L) libertarian, I have an inherent distrust of law enforcement (and most other bureaucracies) and I always have. You know this. That does not mean I will join in with the nuts who harass, attack or yes, even attempt to run over officers with my car. (This is one of the reasons why I still have the correct number of holes in my head.)Just because Biden had a very poor record on securing the border is no excuse for what happened to her.
So, here I am stuck between having to choose who I trust the least: law enforcement or the idiots who make them necessary. However, I will not cast my lot with the performative cosplay revolutionaries who are clearly part of the problem. This is the situation created for us by the elitist, narcissistic nutbags who run this country and now we have to deal with it. We didn't ask for this, but I'll tell you one thing: a HELL of a lot of people voted to get this problem fixed. If this is what it takes, they're going to continue to support ICE which means occasionally having to look the other way on questionable acts (and the acts in question will have to be a lot more questionable than what we've been talking about for days now.)
I swear to God, this country is absolutely overflowing with people who believe their ideologies have some sort of talismanic quality that protects them from the consequences of the choices they make. You find these clowns on both the left and the right. Even worse, you'll find them in Washington D.C. And yeah, I can understand why THEY feel that way since they never seem to have to answer for anything. The rank-and-file? Yeah, not so much.
Anyway, rant ON [OFF]. Like Dennis Miller used to say, "Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong."
