ICE Officer Kills Motorist In Minneapolis

It is a waste of time to argue with people impervious to evidence and argument at this point.

I encourage people to follow ICE around if they like, film as much as they please, protest when and where they please (consistent with local jurisdictions' restrictions as to time, place, and manner), but do not in any way interfere with ICE, and for the sake of their lives, to comply with police instructions. If the police say stop and get out of the car, stop and get out of the car. To do otherwise is to place their own lives in danger as well as the police officers' lives.

Cognitive dissonance. :/

I cited video evidence that is conclusive.

Of course, I can remember the discussions of why slavery was the issue in the Civil War. Despite slavery being cited in every article of secession from the original breakaway states, it was always denied.

Carry on.

Not really. You cited video evidence that is conclusive for your belief that the shooting was inappropriate. The CNN video cut away before the part where you can hear Good physically hitting the police officer. Why cut it away there? Was it to support a narrative?

Look, you are free to believe whatever you wish. You can believe that the earth is flat if you wish. I will move on.

My silence hereafter is not an indication that I find your argument convincing (I do not). It just means I have better things to do.

Civil rights violations as well........

The Department of Justice says it is investigating an anti-ICE protest after demonstrators busted into a St. Paul church, interrupted Sunday morning services, and accused one of the pastors of working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In live stream video footage from former CNN anchor Don Lemon, about 30 protestors with the Racial Justice Network stormed into Cities Church, yelling, "Hands up, don't shoot" and "ICE out."

A disruption by anti-ICE protestors at a Minnesota church is being investigated by the Department of Justice. ABC News' Jack Date has the details.

The part of the video that stood out to me was the 700 club guy justifying the “wearing of masks” by ICE agents as necessary because it’s “protection from the public”…. So we are openly admitting that they are “secret police” and we are “okay with it”. If we hate Nazi comparisons then stop making it easy to have them. An average cop isn’t even afforded that much privilege so why should some wannabe cop be?

Okay as a public educator my information is widely and openly distributed…. You want to talk about craziness and false portrayal then I’m the wrong one to cry to. So yeah i say blame them and have them uniforms visible.

Again regular police don’t get away with this “secret squirrel” nonsense even with the more hard line right wingers. Why do these guys? I mean you are basically admitting that they are secret police…. Something that supposedly only exists in authoritarian countries.

Let’s see…

Secret police raiding homes of immigrants, political opponents, and Jews with no badges or identification , no warning, and no restraint…. If they don’t want the comparison then they are doing a horrible job at distancing themselves from it.

So it's OK to find out their identities........so they can be attacked by the mob?

That was the original question (post #350 upstream)

Call them Nazis all you want. I really don't care., I'm just trying to answer your question with what I see going on. That's all.

Okay answer the leading question… “why are they secretive” What is the ultimate purpose of them being clandestine?

This is more reflective of a paramilitary organization than a true law enforcement organization. That’s why most of their critics are making the comparison.

You yourself have said “they fear to get doxxed”. Okay… if they are law enforcement like you are making them out to be then they shouldn’t be worried about that because any citizen can file a FOIA request for their identity. So again “why are they dressing in civilian clothing, no identification, masked, and making busts that are rarely coordinated with law enforcement”. This isn’t normal law enforcement

This was a 9-0 opinion. In other words, Sotomayor, and Brown-Jackson concurred.

Barnes v. Felix.
And the Fifth Circuit's ruling once sent back to them by SCOTUS:

Barnes v. Felix

I encourage everyone to read the opinion.

"The Court, aware of the 'inordinate risk confronting an officer as he approaches a person seated in a vehicle,' had granted officers the right to order the driver out of the vehicle. ... While Mimms’s common-sense protection enables the officer to distance the driver from weapons or contraband in the vehicle, it also prevents a high-speed car chase. The officer’s power to preempt flight by separating the suspect from his vehicle is crucial as '[a] driver who speeds away from a traffic stop can pose significant dangers to both the officer and the surrounding community.' It follows that the choice to use deadly force in such a situation is 'presumptively reasonable when the officer has reason to believe that the suspect poses a threat of serious harm to the officer or to others.'”

My only motivation for posting this is that I do not want to be party to encouraging anyone to engage in behavior that will lead them to be shot or killed by police.

Follow ICE all you want. Film ICE all you want (as long as it does not interfere). Protest all you like (consistent with local restrictions as to time, place, and manner). Do not interfere in any way (that's a federal crime). And, if a police officer orders you to get out of the vehicle, get out of the vehicle.
