Bama (finally) Fires OL Coach Kapilovic

Stop getting your news from Facebook
Actually saw it on x, it was a joke there and a joke here

My post earlier in this thread on Sam-

Yeah, Pittman is retired hunting and fishing on a mountain lake in Northern Arkansas. With a large bank account, and cooler full of beer. Maybe in a year or two he will return to coaching, but not right now. The Mizzou coach is interesting. Hearing a lot of noise from some Bama men!

to 16 and beyond........

I don't care about the name of the coach but whoever it is needs to be able to instill some mental/physical toughness and get these guys to have a mean streak and a killer instinct.

I think the 2 top guys supposedly being talked about are the Mizzou o line coach and Adrian Klemm who used to coach in the NFL for the Patriots o line and also at Oregon and USC. He also knows Courtney Morgan. I read that Bama may also bring in an assistant o line coach. Maybe one of these guys will be the assistant and the other the head O line coach?
Klein is the one I'm hearing as well, from word I'm hearing there has been contact

on the USC 247 site. mods are saying Adrian Klemm, who was an analyst at USC last year, is a possibility for Alabama's offensive line coach.

"Klemm served as offensive line coach, run game coordinator, and associate head coach under Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning. Klemm's tenure was highly successful, with the Ducks finishing with a 10–3 record in the 2022 season. The offensive line led the FBS in sacks allowed with only five, and the Ducks rushing game was rated the twelfth best."

So he was the o line coach when Mac was running for his life?

Seems like recruiting is less valuable a skill now as the checkbook does that . Need a coach/technician over recruiting ability perhaps

Seems like they were thinking about getting coach Kap for the recruiting and hiring a technician if this rumor of 2 OL coaches with Kap being offered reassignment is true. That's just me speculating and saying 1+1 = 2 though.

But even with all the money out there and there are exceptions. Relationship building goes a long way if your offer being accepted as long as the terms are similar and I think that's being proven out there in CFB and most often when these recruiting battles are fought with money, there's more than one person with money that you have to beat for it and even those with less will splurge for the right thing. Plus there are limits to what anyone will spend on anything

Hearing a lot of noise it’s Brandon Jones from Mizzou…which means it probably will not be him. If it follows most of CKD hires, it will be a guy from UTSA or Eastern Washington or Central Michigan. Anyone know the OLine coach for those teams? One thing I have noticed is CKD seems adverse to hiring coaches from P4 programs.
Is he averse to P4 coaches or is he unable to get them to come work for him?

So let me get this straight. CKD fires Kap, but now it's viewed by some as having taken too long.

There's talk about hiring 2 OL coaches, but some question why didn't he do that sooner, if it's innovative or an NFL model.

Some say he won't hire P4 assistants, but some say he can't.

It seems no matter what the man does, it's not good enough for some of you!

I'm just glad he made the move. It made sense to wait until after the portal closed. I wished Kap had agreed to stay on as more of a recruiting coordinator, but oh well.
Ive been reading up on the pro model of having multiple OL coaches in the NFL. A LOT of NFL teams do this and I think its a great idea for our team. The more hands on, one on one coaching they can get, tbe better.

I'd love the OL coach from Missouri if we can get him. Either way, it sounds like CKD is trying to do whatever it takes to get the OL on track. I'm excited to see who we're getting.

I agree.

The talk about Jones from Missouri is about a month old now. He may be the guy, but he's the very first one I heard mentioned.

I wonder if he's going to go to the pro model if he might be thinking about hiring out of the NFL?
