Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) (part II)

well, i hope they don't spend the money before they get paid

Oh, I know a lot of the protesters are "real", like in every protest. But I've also seen enough people caught via social media going from protest to protest to know it's not as rare as we may like to think.

“caught by social media” can also easily overstate anecdotal things like this especially when it starts with the conclusion (the administration’s spin has always been “paid agitators”)

Exactly. They've been spouting this crap since Trump's disastrous first term and never offer up any real evidence to back their claims. It's like everything with Trump and his fanboys, "just trust our words, proof not needed".

Did you happen to watch the video? The mother of the girl that was hit puts most of the blame on the school for allowing (or inciting) the protest, saying that these kids lack sufficient information to even know what they’re protesting.
Not to mention, there's a chance she was only out there because she was either forced to do it or was buckling to peer-pressure. I agree with the mom; the school should get the Lion's share of the blame.

Having said that, there was no reason to hit that girl with a car, even if she actually wanted to be out there. I could understand taking off if your vehicle is suddenly surrounded by miscreants who determined to do something to you, but that clearly is not the case here. The driver loses credibility for claiming it as an accident when he fled the scene.

I agree. I’m just pointing out that a lot of avoidable damage is being done because of poor choices by people who are misguided, misinformed, or led astray by their own emotions.

BTW, the culprit turned out to be a stupid kid (juvenile) himself.

From that bastion of liberal policy, the Cato Institute:

Today @CatoInstitute published our report providing the first look at the fiscal effects of the wave of legal & illegal immigration over the last 3 decades. It shows immigrants created surpluses every year, by a combined $14.5 trillion, even as deficits grew.

These young brothers sacrifice normal teenage life to be full-time ICE watchers in Minneapolis — and say they won’t regret it

The teenagers’ names are Sam and Ben, but to the federal immigration agents they interact with daily, the two boys wielding cell phones and taking down plate numbers are a duo known as “the brothers.”

This is Jocelyn Nungaray.

She was r*ped and strangled to death by two illegal aliens.

She was only 12 years old.

Jocelyn is why I support ICE.

Federal authorities are releasing a 4th-grader detained by ICE in Minnesota.

Federal authorities are releasing a 4th-grader detained by ICE in Minnesota, according to the head of her school district. Colombia Heights superintendent Zena Stenvik said that on Jan. 6, Elizabeth Zuna and her mom were “picked up by ICE on their way to school” and sent to Dilley Immigration Processing Center in South Texas. It is the same district that 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his dad were taken from, and the same detention center that they were sent to before their release at the request of a federal judge on Sunday. “We are filled with joy at the anticipation of the family when Elizabeth’s father can once again be reunited with his daughter and wife,” Stenvik said. Stenvik added that “we do not know the status of Elizabeth’s health at this time,” following a measles outbreak at the facility, which means the timeline for her return is also unknown. A racially motivated bomb scare on Monday led Columbia Heights schools to close on Monday, CBS News reports. Dozens of parents from the school district have been scooped up by ICE, Stenvik said. “We seek the full release of all children and unjust

Homeland Security is trying to force tech companies to hand over data about Trump critics

The Department of Homeland Security has been quietly demanding tech companies turn over user information about critics of the Trump administration, according to reports.

In several cases over recent months, Homeland Security has relied on the use of administrative subpoenas to seek identifiable information about individuals who run anonymous Instagram accounts, which share posts about ICE immigration raids in their local neighborhoods. These subpoenas have also been used to demand information about people who have criticized Trump officials or protested government policies.

All of the "limited government" conservatives and libertarians will be against this, right?
