This time in Alabama, there are some legitimate races. Yeah, they're all on the Republican side, and all their ads tout (1) standing with Trump, (2) loving to hunt and shoot guns (3) going to church, and (4) fighting for Alabama -- whatever that means. And a lot of them say they'll fight against left-wing policies with pictures of AOC, Ilhan Omar and Bernie Sanders flashing up. Even for offices that have no influence on such things.
Yes, it means choosing from among flawed candidates -- IOW, voting against someone, rather than for someone.
I haven't followed polls much, but in the race for Tuberville's Senate seat, Barry Moore seems to be spending the most on TV ads and has Trump's endorsement. What I have seen says he has a small lead. As far as I'm aware, he's not related to Roy Moore. But he seems to be about as much of a moron as Roy, though there are no whispers of chasing underage dating partners.
So I'll probably vote for Jared Hudson. He has no political experience, which might be a good thing. And he's a former Navy SEAL, so I don't think anything will intimidate him. Yeah, he leans a bit heavily on religion, but his military bona fides are unquestioned. Al.com did an article on him, saying that he's "surging." He's also started to attract attack ads from Moore's camp, which tells me he's got their attention.
There are 3 major candidates, so there's a good chance there'll be a runoff. Right now, it looks like that would be between Moore and Hudson. But there's a week to go, so who knows?
