I think orange helmets and white hats would be a nice change.Oranange hats or white helmets?
That crossed a line. No way , NO WAY should an Alabama team ever cross onto the field of play with Orange anywhere on them. That includes spills from Orange Gatorade.I think orange helmets and white hats would be a nice change.![]()
Having been on campus in '69, I remember that headgear quite well. Not many folks remember in 1969 Alabama wore these for most of their games-100 sticker celebrating 100 years of college football. Several other teams wore similar decals for the 1969 season.

I go way back, but my only memories of the white helmets contain a lot of losing. Keep them stowed away!Bama wore white helmets in the 50s, 60s, 70's and early/mid 80s. That's pre-Bryant, the Bryant era, and post-Bryant.
But, the last time we wore them was under Ray Perkins.
I wonder if the "last memory" of white helmets being associated with RP, which is not the best memory for those of us who can remember it, impacts how we feel about them???
Don't mess with the uniform. It should have been a bullet form in CKD's contract. you should not mess with the best looking uniform in college football.I've actually been wanting to see crimson pants with 2 white stripes for a while now. I think it'll look pretty good!
Softball team does it with the old logo (elephant coming thru the block A) and it looks really good. While I'm a traditionalist, I think grey would look great. I think we've done that in Basketball, IIRC.
But grey/gray would look GREAT with Crimson!!!

I believe it is the unwritten 11th commandment.Don't mess with the uniform. It's trying to improve on perfection -- gilding the lily.
White helmets with a red stripe and numbers isn't messing with the uniform. Bryant used to do it a lot, especially if the opposing team had red helmets. Since then, it's been done periodically over the years and isn't a drastic departure.
I'm unaware of Alabama ever wearing red pants. Let's not even think about a sheen on the pants....that's an abomination against the Lord.
That is Terry Davis handing off to Ellis Beck
In Los Angeles versus Southern Cal who wore dark red helmets. That is Terry Davis handing off to Ellis Beck
Terry "the snake" Davis,, he had some snake in him .That is Terry Davis handing off to Ellis Beck
I hate those Barstool Sports pages! I stand corrected!Terry "the snake" Davis,, he had some snake in him .
Looks too much like StanfordI wouldn’t mind an occasional use of white helmets . Would remind me of my youth when “ college “ football was actually college football.
