Link: Texas Tech QB Sorsby Entering Treatment for Gambling Addiction

I think the Big 12 will suspend him . Not sure Texas judge can handle that case.
I heard an attorney on Finebaum say the AG’s of the nine other states outside of Texas with Big 12 institutions should let the Texas AG know his authority begins and ends in Texas and carries no weight in their state(s). And their support is with the NCAA and Big 12, not from some TRO in Texas.

The best defense is a good offense, in his opinion. In other words, tell the Texas AG to “go pound sand”.

The pitiful thing is you've got representatives of Texas Tech saying "He didn't kill anybody or commit domestic violence." LOL! Really guys! LOL! So that's where we are with college sports? I get it, there have been some major injustices over the years but betting on games you play in or coach, is STILL A VIOLATION of the rules. The rule was never repealed you so why shouldn't it be enforced?

So basically the HC is telling him that I HAVE to have this player...
I don't think the coach runs the team, I don't think the AD runs the athletic department, I don't think the President runs the University. I don't think SACS or whatever accreditation org they use out there that determines whether a degree is legit or on parr with Life College is a real, fiunctioning entity.

We live in a time when billionaires run our country and anything can and will be bought. Nothing is real. There will be a reckoning.

And; if it had been Brad Sorsby, 3rd string guard he would have been gone without a whimper with the AD proclaiming how they value the integrity of the game.

Because they spent $6 million on him. Let's face it, if he were a regular student, they would've kicked him to the curb without a second thought, so it's definitely nothing to do with the kid. They gotta protect their investment. That's all he is to them.

Texas Tech and Cody Campbell knew it was a “gamble” but it was a bet they were willing to make.

Well the Kansas AG has joined Oklahoma and it' s become clear the Big 12 will not simply back down to the intimidation attempt. The Big 12 has filed in court so we'll see how it goes...

The Big 12 has filed a request for confirmation that it can enforce its conference rules without being vulnerable to state-level retaliation.

The Big 12's filing is in the Northern District of Texas, which is a federal court. Far less likely to render a home-cooked ruling than a state court.

If (two big letters) the court confirms, it would essentially tell the Texas AG to pound sand.

Here's what CBS News had to day about it earlier today:

This is in contrast to the NCAA's appeal to the Texas 7th District Court of Appeals, which is a state court.

Still, TT has incoming from all directions.

5 and change GUARANTEED from what I’ve read.

unfortunately even without the gambler they could run the table with that schedule. They will struggle to find a ranked team till the big 12 championship and even then….
Yeah, I took a look at their schedule. It makes Indiana's schedule look like murders row.

Utah's AG and Governor are stating their support for the Big 12 and their right to enforce rules.

Another thing of note is that part of the case the Big 12 is making is that Texas Tech has in the past voted to sanction a member school, so they acknowledge the Big 12's right to do so. They still have the same president and athletic director as they had when they voted to sanction Baylor in 2016.

So to me it would seem things are crumbling around Texas Tech. Their attempt to sue/threaten everyone into compliance doesn't seem to have worked. Also, with two different cases going in, the NCAA's (attempt to expedite an) appeal and the Big 12's, just one needs to succeed to put this madness to an end. But... I never would have thought a judge would allow an injunction against such a basic rule as you can't gamble on your own team's events so what do I know.
