UA is hosting the winners of regional tournaments today and tomorrow for the National finals. I'm not sure if it is open to the public, but I know the regional tournaments had several blue chippers participating. It's amazing to see some of the plays these guys make without pads on and playing...

Spring Scrimmage stats are about as useless as me having Erin Andrews phone number. I worked a D1 scrimmage yesterday and one today. In both, the quarterback was not live and was "sacked" when touched. If he would have been live, several of those would have resulted in scrambles of big gains...

At this point, I withhold judgement either way.

Re: NCAA:Possible Tebow Rule for 2010 The NFL imposed something similar in the mid-80's when Jim McMahon continued to get publicity for his various headbands. If you wear something outside the definition of "uniform" in the NFL, displaying your "freedom of speech" will lighten your wallet.

Thanks for posting Bama61. It's important to realize that these are not NCAA eggheads making these decisions. They are individuals with a vested interest in the game and are much closer to what needs to be addressed than the average college administrator, NCAA staffer or the average fan.

My answer may have been confusing. An invalid fair catch signal is not a foul (under NCAA Rules). You just lose protection and can't advance. Most receivers who give that signal let the ball roll dead. They get in trouble when they try to advance after giving any signal. I have seen this...
