Herbstreit forced to move from his home in Ohio

Actually, Tennessee is a very beautiful state, especially east Tennessee and the Smokey Mountains. It was hard for us when we first moved here but that was back when Bama had a long winning streak against UT. Now, things are a little better and UT has to worry just as much if not more about...

***OT Cyrus Kouandjio Signed with Bama***

This is GREAT news for the Bama Nation and I'm happy for Cyrus and his family!

Link: Aaron Douglas not starting off well-- Charged with a DUI

I don't think this is the first time he's gotten into trouble. I understand that there is some basis for his leaving UT and if St. Nick checks into it, it will not be pretty.

Duke view of Alabama and fans

Thanks. We thought the Duke fans were the nicest, friendliest, and good natured fans we had ever been around. Also, the campus is very beautiful.

    Duke game: Who's going?

I ordered 4 tickets from Stubhub. We're driving to Greensboro and staying with my brother and sister-in-law that weekend. The four of us will load up from there and drive over to the game that Saturday. Anyone know about places to eat or "celebrate" after the game?

    New to site

Re: new to site Welcome! It's always good to have more Bama fans in Tennessee. I'm hoping that with Dooley as their new coach, the rivalry will become more respectful.

Question: A More Civil Rivalry with UT?

I think it will primarily because of their new coach, who not only worked for CNS but admires him. There have been numerous quotes in the Knoxville News Sentinel praising CNS and his coaching abilities. Most of my beef with UT was with Fulmer. Now, he's gone. Some of their fans can still be...

Are you guys rooting for or against Tebow?

Definitely for Tebow. There are not many young men that come along like him. He represents class, honesty, faith, clean competitive spirit, compasion, and goodwill to others. He's the kind of role model that most people and loving parents admire. I cannot understand how anyone could not pull...

Question: Old Timers: How does this NC compare with those that came before it?

My brother went to UA in the early 60's and I followed in the mid 60's so I am one of the spoiled fans and Bama graduate that saw a succession of national championships under the Bear. Back then, things happened relatively quickly with the bowl games and voting by the AP and UPI (Coach's...

Question: Fake punt in 1st qtr deep in our territory-what were we thinking?

If you noticed, no one was covering the wideout who goes downfield for punt coverage. I believe that JP has the option to throw the ball when there're no coverage. However, Texas disguised it well and their linebacker made a great play to get there in time to interecept. Didn't matter...

On the punt when we got the saftey, did LSU swat the ball?

My brother and his wife were watching the game with us and we thought the same thing. From the angle of the TV camera, it looked like the LSU player made contact around the 3 or 4 yard line. Later, I think we did get a big break when it looked like the LSU player intercepted a ball near the...

Any BAMA/UT Houses' Divided on here?

We live in Knoxville too and it's rough territory for Bama fans. Not as bad as when we first moved here but the Bama game is still a BIG rivalry for the Vols. Since both children went to UT, I've tried to be more understanding but it's hard. My son is big on UT but my daughter pulls for both...

Question: Regarding our lack of media attention: Has it always been this way?

I attended Bama in the 60's and have followed them my whole life. In my opinion, the media has always favored teams such as Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan and are reluctant to praise or give credit to Alabama and some of the other Southeastern Conference schools. Bama was...

Hats off to VT and their fans

I agree that the VT fans were very polite and good sports. Before the game, we some VT fans let us share a table at Stats with them. We chatted and both wished our teams good luck. On the way out of the stadium after the game was over, a VT fan shook my hand and said "good game". At the...

    Question: Opening weekend in Knoxville

I live in Knoxville but a big Bama fan and graduate! My daughter and I will be in Atlanta for the game. I don't know of any planned gatherings to watch the game in Knoxville but one of the more popular sports bars is Bailey's at Seven Oaks shopping center off Kingston Pike. If you prefer a...

Question: Where do Tide fans gather in Knoxville?

Question: Where do Tide fans gather in Knoxville?

I don't know of any place in particular that Bama fans hang out in Knoxville. It's still not a popular place for Bama fans although Florida and Georgia have provided most of the grief the past few years. Barley's is a pizza-beer hangout in the Old City near downtown that's popular with the...
