bamabake, you are so right. Forgive me; I guess i was up too late. 4-8 is some better than 3-9.

By the way, I am not an aubie, just a tired Bama fan.

We'll be entering the season from a much more stable standpoint, it's only reasonable that would indicate a much better season since our schedule is also easier.

Even so, another crappy year from the kicking game could negate improvement elsewhere. Coach Ungerer needs to make big-time improvements here.

Sorry, once again; I believe it is an 11 game season this time. Make it a 4-7 season.

Personally,I have no solid gut feel how the 2004 season will unfold. I think it is a WAG for anyone to say that we will pull off a winning season with our depth issues. However, I do think we have some solid talent on campus, despite the opinions of several folks that think this is the weakest team talent wise they have seen on campus in years. Honestly, I would put our Secondary, LB's, RB's, a healty Brodie Croyle, and several of our DL/OL up against any other program in the country and feel comfortable that ours are better than theirs.

The real positive for 2004 is we have a staff that will have been on campus for longer than a year, which can only benefit our playcalling and our coaches ability to know everyone on a personal level. I think we will see a much more efficient and gelled Offense this year. One that will provide multiple looks and confuse opposing DC's. We may not lead the SEC in Total Offense but we will be a threat to every team we play this year, including LSU.

Another key factor that goes overlooked sometimes is a teams S&C Program. Not that Ben Pollard's approach at Bama wasn't top notch, but I think that the program we are running is more tailored to the system Coach Shula has implemented. We should expect to see the results of this new program on the field as players have already said that this new program is brutal.

I can't wait for the season to get here so BAMA can prove some of you wrong. Nothing against your opinions, but forgive me if I'd rather see the Tide go 8-3 instead of
4-7. Who really knows? We could go undefeated. Gosh, August can not get here soon enough!

RTR!!!

The issue is that you cant compete well with "several" Ol and Dl players.

I wish I knew how anyone could possibly conclude that untill the seasonis under way. The LSU thing......man..

BamaBake,

First, the issue is that the positions I mentioned are filled by key players that can compete with anyone and can make a differnce in the outcome of a game and a season. Yeah, I know football is still a team sport but I feel alot better about this season knowing we do have some talent on campus.

Second, how can our offense not be more gelled and show more looks than last year. We had, what, 3 weeks to learn an offense last season????? I completly miss your pont there.

Third, I refer to LSU only because they are the returning NC team that just so happens to be in our conference. They are every bit as loaded talent/depth wise as last year and will likely go to another BCS Bowl this year. I may be wrong but I doubt it.

What team you pulling for anyway?
