Wow, never even heard of this guy - seems completely out of nowhere. but can't blame the kid :) who wouldn't want to play for Saban.

Hearing Phillip Ely is Bama Bound. Late push, prevails.

According to BOL he hasn't announced yet but someone from rivals did post the info below in an article that has since been removed. The link has been removed but on their mainboard Ely to Bama is being discussed. Right now everyone is just waiting for Ely's official announcement. Again it won't be long before we know the real story.
First, in that article, Greg is spelled Craig. Also, there was something about the word America(n) that was funny looking. THEN, the article came out before it was 5pm anywhere in the country...yet it said that he made the decision at 5pm.

"He made the news official at a 5:00 PM press conference at Plant High School"

"Crimson Tide being one of the top football programs in American "

"with the departure of quarterback Craig McElroy next season"

He is an Elite 11 QB and is considered the highest ranked QB in this class that is not already committed to a school

Well as expected Plant's Posada chooses Michigan. Now Ely will make his commitment after watching a short highlight film of himself. Drum roll...

Evidently there are two kids announcing. The first one just announced for Michigan. Ely is coming up next.

My guess is they knew ahead of time and accidently posted their rough draft they were writing up to have ready to post when he announced. Even with the errors, that's alot of info to be complete BS.

There is no argument that article or whatever it is, or it was, is very strange. Whom ever wrote that has no clue about Bama QBs or the stable of QBs that will be ahead of Ely. If Ely chooses Bama it will be a shocker to many Tide fans.

With limited space it will be but a QB was needed and I doubt very seriously we get 2 5 star QBs next year. As long as we get Winston next yearI could care less.

Also inregards to Ely I guess that is why CNS gets paid millions and I don't if he comes here. So I can not question it at all if it happens.
