First off hello. Yes I'm new and yes I am an LSU fan. And yes I have just as much respect for Bama as I do LSU and all of the SEC schools.

With that out of the way I wanted to get your thoughts on what a 2:30 game means to Bama? Well one thing is for sure that just means you will get to tailgating early but I'm sure like us everyone likes a night time prime time game. At least by 4th quarter or so it should be getting dark.

I'll see you in Bama soon

Welcome Rex enjoy your visit to TideFans. I suspect most responses to your2:30 game time question, and I am guessing mind you, will have to do with CBS announcers Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson. So get ready.

Thanks for the welcome. I figured I would start my first post with something a bit non-confrontational.. HAHA.

Welcome aboard! It is 3:30 for me in NJ, so it means that I have time to take care of the Honey, do... list before kickoff. It also means that I have to get ready to sync the radio with the TV broadcast...

I hear that. My honey-do list has to be completed by Thursday.

For us professional tailgaters the 2:30 game is perfect. You can get out there early...then go to the game...then back to the tailgate to wait for the traffic to die down...and by then it's only 9:00 or 10:00. Now that Daylight Savings Time is over...the end of the 2:30 games will be at "night" anyway...just like last year's game in Baton Rouge. We were playing under the lights by the 4th Quarter. The night games are fun...but you really do get worn out tailgating all day before getting in the stadium...not to mention not getting home until midnight.

I enjoy the 2:30 game when it comes to tailgaiting and going to the game and then more cookouts after the game. I enjoy watching the games in the daylight. If I am having to watch the game at home, which I have to do while in Kentucky, I prefer the night games, partly to have the afternoon free, partly because I would rather not have the afternoon CBS crew.

Welcome to Tidefans

Welcome to the board, and we hope you enjoy your visits with us. We also hope you enjoy your game day experience at BDS.
We all know how important the fans are in the performance of their team. So I think a 2:30 start time definitely benefits the Tide because the majority of LSU fans probably won't even wake up until half-time. Maybe later.

Playing at 2:30 is great. We get a few new players.

Orlando McClain
Lionel Washington.
Leah Kiffin.

Even though it`s a home game for us, we may find that we are actually in Auburn or Knoxville or even Baton Rouge.
Gotta love ole Gary & Verne. :biggrin2:
BTW, welcome to Tidefans.

For me it stinks. I'll be coaching my son's soccer team at that time Saturday. For the team, I don't think it matters. They should be fired up no matter the time.

I enjoy the 2:30 games - not too early, not too late, just right.

Of course, this only applies when I'm attending the game so I don't have to listen to Verne and Gary bumble and stumble their way through the broadcast. If I'm watching on TV, I prefer ESPN night games.

Luckily, this weekend, I'll be at BDS.

I wouldn't miss this one for the world either!! I'll be in BDS right along with ya and 98, 138 of my best friends!! I like the 2:30 kickoff. Coming from southern/middle tennessee, it gets me down there in plenty of time to tailgate and home before midnight. Looking forward to this Saturday!! Roll TIDE! :BigA:

Same here. 2:30 great except for the Danielson/Lundquist thing.

Welcome Rex. That is one PURPLE ride you got there.

I just hope we don't have to put "Star Jones" in at Qback again. It's too dangerous out there for a lady.

I like them. It's 12:30 out here when the game comes on. That means, I get to sleep-in, watch the last half of the morning games, check out Tidefans, and get ready for the real game.
