What do the stats look like for our current commits? I always have had a softer spot for the young men that choose Crimson long before NSD, and we have had a good track record recently with signing all of our early commits. Just want to see if anyone has any stats on these guys, or have seen them play and have vaulable insight. Remember, I'm asking about the current commits. Thanks!

it may be still too soon after the season to know a lot of their actual stats for sure.

Ford had approximately 70 touches for 900 yards. :eek2:
Stover redshirted this year.
Higgenbotham's numbers will be small b/c of his knee injury.
Kirschman's will be somewhat low b/c of injuries.
Dial missed a couple of games.
Coger missed a couple of games.

A tangent universe
Tremayne Coger

Hes going to be a great player. Props to the alabama staff for recognizing this players talent and jumping on him early. Seems like they always manage to get an early commit that wasnt on anybody elses radar but turns out to be a great prospect (mike johnson, travis sikes).

I hope LaBronski gets his grades right. I think he maybe a good MLB if he can put a little weight on. With his speed and current weight, he is a typ OLB. Most kids come into college and are still growing and with the strength conditioning they add weight.

Get to Know Charlie Higgenbotham
It is clear that his approach has translated into production between the white lines and will make him a great addition to the Alabama family. It didn't take him long to figure out that the Crimson Tide were for him.

He committed back in the spring, and said, "I loved the coaches, loved the tradition, and loved the fan base."

Higgenbotham said that he also really likes that no matter what, the fans are behind the team. Although both of his parents graduated from Birmingham Southern, they didn't pressure him to choose a particular school -- though Charlie's mom did have a good feeling about the Tide.

Tremayne Coger

Hey I was wondering if we were going to use Coger like Devin Hester is used at Miami. He looks like one of the types who could line up at WR, RB, CB, and return kicks. He is like lightning from what ive been told from people in Tennesee.

he is very fast and is a steal from the state of TN. I don't know if the staff plans to use him on offense, but I know he'll get a look at PR/KR. Recruited as a corner.

Charlie Kirschman Update
Tide verbal commit will cheer for Nease from the sidelines Friday night. Scout.com's three star linebacker talks about his injury and his teammate Tim Tebow.

"The play-offs have been going great," said Charlie Kirschman. "I haven't been able to play because I dislocated my shoulder, but the team has been doing great without me."

RTO,

I'm sure you read the recent article on BOL about Travis Sikes and it mentions in the article that Harvey will apparently start out as a FB, so that looks like a done deal. Sikes looks to start out at FS, but heck, if it doesn't work there, I sure wouldn't mind seeing him at WR.

Also, the recent interview with Charlie Kirshman on BOL stated that the coaches liked him to start as an OLB, but could possibly move to the defensive line. So, it looks like for at least his first few practices here, he will be an OLB.

Kirschman reminds me of a big Nebraska of the 90s type LB. I think he'd be fine at LB, but I just hesitate since our OLBs have been a la Juwan Simpson. Leaner and able to drop back into coverage at will. I've seen CK do it though, so maybe he'll stay there.

Well, I do think it may be wishful thinking to hope that CK can perform all the duties an OLB for Kines is expected to do, but letting him start there won't hurt. We've got plenty of young DEs. FYI, I got that info from the audio interview that Reier and the other guy (cant think of his name right now) did with CK on Sunday afternoon.
