There are some talented QBs in the 2009 class. Alabama is in the hunt for three of the best, A.J. McCarron, Russell Shepard, and Chris Garret.

I'd love to see Chris commit, the only problem is he is a life long State fan, but hopefully he can see that to truly succeed as a QB he'd need to go to Alabama.

One of the top 2009 DT prospects D.J. Fluker was at the Alabama/Arkansas game visiting Alabama. After the game he named Alabama as his favorite.

Do you think that he was caught up in the emotion, or has he always been considered a lean? I know that AJ, Nico, and Mardrecas are considered UA leans, but wasn't sure on Fluker, Kirkpatrick, or Tana.

Since he is originally from Louisiana he did favor LSU early on. He was in Mobile last year before moving to Biloxi this year. Bama has been in on him from when CNS first arrived and they have offered him a scholarship. I believe he may still have some interest in LSU but they have not offered him yet. If and when LSU offers we will see how that goes. He was really impressed at the Arkansas game and he does list Bama as his favorite.

Also we need to add Blake Burgess to the list of OL the 6-3 Center from Vestavia. He doesn't have a profile yet but by my guesstimation he'll be 3 or 4 star, maybe higher I just know how he's being recruited and that's the impersonation I'm getting.

Elite junior holds five offers

“I have five offers right now,” Patrick said. “Alabama, Auburn, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Clemson have offered me. I would say Alabama and Auburn are recruiting me the hardest right now.”

“I don’t have any favorites. I am keeping everything open. I don’t plan to make a decision anytime soon.”

It is. But IF, and I stressed IF, Bama lands McCarron, along with Jackson, plus Fanuzzi, I think Alabama will be nicely set at the QB for the foreseeible future. I would like to get Garrett, but...

I would literally salivate over the possibilities if we were able to land Sheppard. I know Star is nothing to sneeze at as far as athletic QBs go, but Sheppard is simply ELECTRIC!
