I do see that Scout.com has now rated Carpenter, and they now have him as a four-star.
Moreover, he returned from his visit to Norman, and though he sounded high on Oklahoma, it still sounds to me like he is 'Bama bound.

Carpenter will be making his decision pretty soon and he now says that he is going to visit Ole Miss this weekend and take a one day visit to South Carolina. He is looking at SC because they are the closest school to his home in Augusta, GA. that he is considering. It does sound like it will come down to either Bama or OK. With him giving some consideration to the close proximity of the school to his family, I would say Bama is in the drivers seat, so to speak.I do see that Scout.com has now rated Carpenter, and they now have him as a four-star.

I read the article but I can not say what the article was trying to say about his 'body language' other than it seems that he does have an overall favorite. I believe his two top favorites are Ole Miss and Alabama.Just curious if anyone has seen the article on Patrick Patterson on Rivals say his "body language" hinted his favorite. Can someone shed some light on who it might of been?
As far as I see it right now, it is very unlikely that Bama would be able to squeeze him into this class. In my opinion the only way he plays at Bama is as a walk-on with a chance to earn a scholarship later. Is there any possible scenario that would allow Bama to offer Derrion Thomas a scholarship? Maybe a loophole in the Bryant Scholarship?
I also noticed Rivals has graded him as a 3 star, but only list Mizzou and UCLA as the only schools of interest.
And if you had to lay odds on this, what realistic chance of this happening is there? As far as I see it right now, it is very unlikely that Bama would be able to squeeze him into this class. In my opinion the only way he plays at Bama is as a walk-on with a chance to earn a scholarship later.
I am no odds maker and I do not know any of the details of the situation other than what is reported in the media. I know that Bama is or was talking to Thomas and I think he is unlikely to get an offer. And if you had to lay odds on this, what realistic chance of this happening is there?
http://www.usarmyallamericanbowl.com/When is the Army AA game? Here we are getting into the middle of December and I am getting antsy.
Between Jess' comments regarding Kendall Kelly and Alabama and the 'observation' this morning in the Press Register that Kirkpatrick may be leaning to Texas, I am not feeling my usual confident self about things.
Do we believe that there will be some public commits to the Tide at that all star game?
rtr, and thanks.
There was an interesting tidbit making rounds today that in an interview at the AL/MS All-Star game AJ McCarron mentioned members of the Mississippi team that he will play with next year and he mentioned having bragging rights over Norwood and Patterson next year at Bama. Now this could have been misquoted or taken out of context but I just though I would pass it along and tickle some of you guys' intrigue.I read the article but I can not say what the article was trying to say about his 'body language' other than it seems that he does have an overall favorite. RB Onterio McCallebb (5-11, 172) is a native of Fort Meade, Fla., and was heavily recruited by Clemson last season before committing to Auburn. Now he's going to decide between Clemson and Auburn in the next week or so.
"It's a great possibility that I am going to commit to Clemson," he said. "I like Auburn and Clemson and it's going to be a battle."
Alabama also has been recruiting McCallebb and he might take an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend. McCallebb finishes up at Hargarve on Friday and will be a midyear enrollee.
The nation's No. 1-rated safety, Craig Loston, told ESPN's Billy Tucker that he will be choosing between LSU and Texas A&M January 2nd at the Burger King Skills Challenge during the Under Armour All-American week.
Loston's high school coach, Ray Evans, told ESPN affiliate Web site TigerGumbo.com in October that his star senior was committed to LSU. However, Loston has informed Tucker that he is still open.
CB Justin Green a soft verbal to Ohio State is going to officially visit Bama on 1/16. Green is committed to OSU but he is still open and very interested in Bama.
