Of course, the prognosticators could not end their three days of coverage without guessing the top picks for the next draft. I don't know if they will do a draft if there is no CBA/lockout. If they do they guestimate Ingram, Dareus, Julio in the first round. Time will tell.

With the raw talent that CNS is bringing to Bama, and he and the staffs ability to develope it, Bama should be well represented in the draft for a long time.

All of Coach's recruiting classes have been great, but that 2008 class turned out to be unreal. What if some of the guys that will start for the first time this year blow up? We could see a lot of people gone.

I saw this at the end of draft coverage. Doing it by memory so I may be off a pick or 2. Kiper had - Dareus 7th overall and Ingram 10th. McShay had Dareus 3rd and Julio around 8th.

There is no doubt all 3 will be first round picks.

What I've been hearing is that, even if the regular season is canceled, there will still be a draft, which, although problematic, still makes sense...

I believe, as long as Ingram has another great year(GIMME), then he Julio and Marcel could all be top 10 picks and Barron would also go in the first round.

Agreed. Also if Carpenter has a real good year and does well in his workouts it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him go in the first round, tackles are always in demand.

I was looking at the eligibility tracker on BOL, and unless jrs come out, Bama won't have that many draft prospects next year, but starting in '12, lookout.

This is my prediction for 2011 NFL Draft based on the usual needs of NFL teams:

First Round
#1-5-M. Dareus
#6-11-M. Ingram
#12-18-J. Jones
#19-24- D. Hightower
#25-32-M. Barron

Second Round
None

Third Round
OT-J. Carpenter

Fourth Round
DE-L. Davis

Fifth Round
QB-G. McElroy

Sixth Round
TE-P. Dial

Seventh Round
WR-D. Hanks

I think 10 from 1 team would break the record.

I'll get killed for this, but I'm not sold on Ingram being a top 15 pick. He should be, but backs with great vision are rarely given credit. Emmitt Smith will never go down as a top 5 runningback. The 2012 draft will be enlightening because Trent should come out that year. He could be a top 5 pick depending on the needs of the teams.

there is a thought among some GMs that due to the short shelf life of running backs and the plethora of able-bodied running backs in the pool, so to speak, that some teams are picking RBs with the lower picks. 3 RB's went in the first round this year with 30 available. No surprise that the Spiller and Best are considered to be super-versatile with pass catching and kick returning skills. I honestly can't explain why Matthews was drafted so high, but whatever. Should Ingram NOT be top 15, 20 or so pick, I hope folks here won't take it personally.
