This is a note about 5* Edge Tank Jones. Don't really know what to think about where he stands but hopefully we get his commitment.

Five-star edge rusher Anthony “Tank” Jones, a 2026 class standout from St. Paul’s Episcopal in Mobile, left his official visit to Alabama on June 22, 2025, raving about the Crimson Tide’s program under head coach Kalen DeBoer. Speaking to On3, Jones highlighted the team’s brotherhood and his strong bond with outside linebacker coach Christian Robinson, describing their connection as a “father-son relationship.” He praised Alabama’s plan for his development, noting, “What helped Alabama most was seeing what they can do for me and helping me be versatile in the defense.” With over 30 scholarship offers from top programs like Oregon, Auburn, Miami, and Texas A&M, Jones remains open to leaving Alabama but considers the Tide a top choice. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Alabama a 31.1% chance of landing the No. 3 edge rusher, with a decision looming this summer.

And the Bama bump is real.

I don't care for that term, because it implies it has more to do with the brand than anything else. Saban might be the GOAT player evaluator, and Morgan/DeBoer are also very, very good at it. It's more than just a brand bump.

My understanding of the term is that when Alabama offers and/or signs a recruit the recruiting services look more closely at the tape and their evaluations and they give them the bump. I don't think it is considered a free pass because they just signed w/ Bama IMO.

We have two commitment announcements tomorrow with 5* RB Crowell and 4* TE Sutter and feel good about both.

Too many people complain were taking in too many 3 stars, but fail to realize that Bama under Saban did same thing and we will see several players get their fourth and fifth stars this fall.

You'll notice ( I did ) Saban is still around and helping w recruiting. That let's you know how smart CKD is and how we're gonna stomp on the tundra.

I read BamaHammer. Ronald Evans is a bit of a sunshine pumper, and the barn lives rent-free in his head. Still, BH has some good information.

Every article by Josh Yourish, however, is a downer. To hear him tell it, we’re back to Shula level recruiting, complete with scholarship restrictions and NCAA probation.

This guy makes Eeyore sound like Dale Carnegie, and could drain the fun out of a first memory.

Anybody have any insight?

I have no idea who he is but if that is his take he has no idea what he is talking about. Quit reading stuff from him if that is the case.
