But it also tells you why some unexpected guys are in the portal now.

I think Dix and Morgan are playing hardball now. Bring them in, tell them what their perceived NIL value is based on past performance/production, what they feel their role will be next year. If they aren’t happy, go play the free agency game in the portal.

Is this a wise play? Only time will tell. One thing I feel for certain. You better make sure you have the best coaches available in terms of development because in many cases you aren’t going to be able to “out talent” the other guy like we have in years past under Saban.
That is no doubt what Courtney Morgan is doing... 😎

Maybe this was before Smith? He was relatively productive this year.

This also skews against guys who were 'next up' like Keeley. With LT overton it's not like Keeley was going to take those reps, but LT is GONE, and given how KK performed over the last few games he certainly seemed like the leading option for next man up.

Kinda the same with a couple of the young OL who left. Might have been next man up since we have so many graduating/leaving.

To lose him would suggest that we are a middle of the pack program going forward. Wish i were a billionaire, id help.
Not me. If were to become a billionaire, it will be because I’m willing to put in the time and effort, and choose to work my tail off to get there…and also because I put my head down and stick it out even when times are tough.
There’s no way in heck I’d give one shiny penny of it to ungrateful, selfish young kids who have no desire to put in the same amount of effort to become successful…and will jump to another team in a split second if someone else offers more money.

If it was a tax write off.....you might reconsider.

If it was your spouse asking for a big time player for their favorite team....you might reconsider.

If you just wanted to show off your money.....you might reconsider.

The big thing is depth. Regardless of whether it’s Pierre or Hill or Russaw, all it takes is one injury that takes someone out for a significant period that puts you behind the eight ball.
I was thinking he might move to ILB, seems like a more natural fit, but I can understand why he would want to continue to pursue the more glamorous and lucrative “edge rusher” position. It’s “career choice” .

I don't care if I had Musk's money, I would not give one red cent to NIL. What my son and I have enjoyed together, for the last 30 years or so, is gone. If something doesn't change quickly he and I will need to find another past time to enjoy together on Saturdays.

I think everyone is focusing little too much on Ryan Williams and his NIL deals. It feels like we're counting his money and demanding he take pay cut. It's ridiculous. That's lot of attention on one guy and if we should complain, we should be complaining about OL room, the RBs, Domani Jackson, Sabbs, and etc.

Some of us forget that He has NIL Deals with the following companies:

New Era
Beats by Dre
Nike
Sally Hansen
Hollister
Uber Eats
Rising Tide youth Football
EA

Those deals are worth 1.6 Million. That's not including what Alabama is offering him as NIL deal, but I don't think it's a lot. The fact he got the NIL deals outside Alabama speaks a lot and I think we're okay with him.

Brooks will ink few NIL deals outside Alabama and he deserve it.

IMO, Courtney Morgan got this. He has an idea of who's leaving/staying/and managing NIL budget.

I believe we'll see few players from Alabama entering the portal, and some of them will be the one you guys will be upset with, but the potential talents coming in outweigh that. Ryan Williams will be fine. We're in good hands with our WR groups and I believe there will be some adjustments made in the offseason with how they run routes, catching the ball, and eye disciplines.

I've said this before and I will say this again: I believe the staff should focus on improving the OL, DL and RB the most. Depth for other positions.
Some of the big money NIL companies should make pay for play commensurate with performance. NIL should be paid on a month to month basis...
The one liner... 'Pay for play' needs to be applied.
