It just dawned on me that in March I will celebrate my 20th Anniversary on Tidefans. I know we have some folks already hit their 20th.

Is there a way to see this? I remember some folks with 1999 as start dates.

I tried looking for a list I could sort by date, but I haven’t had any luck.

So, if you have hit the 20 year mark.....kudos.
It was the late, great bayoutider on another long defunct chat board (NCAA boards run by an Okie St guy) that told me about this place.

I registered on 31 March 2000, which was a Friday, although I think that's Greenwich time because I'm pretty sure it was Thursday night in Mississippi.

I wasn't here much during my medical school years (2001-2002) save for when Franchione did his D.B. Cooper imitation. I was here off and on and my participation ramped up during "The Great Coaching Search of 2006," and I've mostly been here ever since with a few instances of taking several months off to write my thesis or get divorced or build an Egyptian pyramid in my back yard.

I joined in September of 2000 while working in Finland. It was a great way to stay abreast of the Tide. It was also one of the worst years for Bama football. It is so great to be at the pinnacle of Tide achievements these days.

I'm not 100% sure but I think I was incommunicado in Hawaii during the big crash. I remember being somewhere getting a call or email or text (did those exist in 99?) :D from one of the mods saying the site was down and had been for a while. For the uninitiated, we had a server located in CA where our site was hosted that literally caught fire and melted. They didn't tell us what had happened for a couple of weeks. It was pretty ridiculous. I had to put the site back together from scratch... over a dialup connection. Those were the wild west days. Thanks to all who were there then and are still here and thanks to all who have joined during the intervening period. We will have TideFans even if Covid knocks out the football season!
I used your tool you posted on the first page to look at 99-00 tidefans. It looked much harder to navigate than the current site. And now you sre telling me yall use to have to use dialup to navigate that? I am happy I was not born until 91.

Amen to that, brother. I'm a 2004 refugee from a poorly-moderated board. Begged the owner to change. He essentially said he agreed with me, but would lose subscribers if he toned down what passed for discourse. So he lost me.

Second-best breakup of my life, behind only my last college girlfriend -- a face from an Ivory Soap box, a Trumpian need for control, a heart from the South Pole, and the brain to know which buttons to push. A no-foolin' dangerous woman.
Sounds like I was engaged to her in the late 60s. She was a looker.
I got away from her. (I was lucky.)
5 years later she bankrupted a guy in Chicago.
'T' took every cent he had, and all he could borrow.
Last I heard, she was 'Digging for Gold' in California.

I started reading post in 2007, and finally joined in 2008.
I'm just a young'un. (Don't get to say that very often.)
13 yrs went by PDQ. I still love it.

Yes. Dialup. Not only that, but when I lived in London, British Telecom had me dialing up at 9600 baud max. for those of you who don't know what that means, it means I could have typed out on a piece of paper an article and hand delivered it to you from London to Tuscaloosa faster than you could access it over the dialup :D
