Way to jump in and be a Debbie Downer why don't we see you post when things are going well?
I mostly read threads but the lack of intensity for 60 minutes and Julio dropping passes has driven me crazy all year and guess I had to finally get it off my chest. When we play a complete game against real competition I will be sure to give everyone their due props.

I thought we get 24 hours to celebrate the win? There are no teams that are perfect out there. Every team has questions, but the ones that do a better job of answering them will be great at the end of the day

Let me be positive, Bama positively beat FU on every game plan they had. I saw one Tide player that appeared to have leg cramps . I believe if the Tide had needed more fire to beat the gators , it would have been there . Don't run guys into the ground if you don't have to. And everybody said RRRoooollll Tide Roll ! T.S.

Huge win tonight, and anytime you can beat Florida 31-6, you've had a good night. Sure there's always room for improvement, but I'm not going to slammed the team tonight after such a huge win. I'm sure this coaching staff will watched the film, and find things the players need to improve on.

Bama has gotta a lot of football left, and if this team wants a ring this year, they need to look no further than the next game. Going to enjoy this great win for 24hrs, and it's on to play at SC next week. They got their backs against the wall while needing a win to stay in the SEC East race.

Not to be more of a Debbie Downer, but the last time we played the Gators and won by this similar of a margin a deep ball was thrown to Prothro. The rest is history, therefore, running out the clock in the second half was the right call. I am excited about a big win and already cannot wait for the South Carolina game.

Guys,

I am very glad we won the game but you have to notice we have problems on defense and in keeping our focus for 60 minutes. I am looking at the big picture...i.e. National Championship. Tonight's game could have been much closer if not for the VERY timely turnovers and as flat as we played in the 2nd half FLA could have got back in the game. They didn't and that's great....but if we don't get our problems fixed then 1 or more teams will beat us. We are not invincible....now. If we can start playing complete games...we just might be. That's all I really want...complete 60 minute effort and maximum intensity.
Sorry, but there's not a top-10 team out there (or perhaps ever) that has started the season without flaws. Do we have areas in which to improve? Surely. However, you're being VERY, VERY overly negative, to the extent that I question whether you're really a fan or a forum troll. Remember, Florida wasn't a lousy team. Our defense dismantled a team who everyone believed might make a run at the BCSNCG this year (and still might). Not every team will find an answer to our run. Florida certain;y had no answer for most elements of our team.

Like others have said, why not just enjoy the win for a while before you start picking things apart? This was a huge hurdle tonight. Trust me, the coaches will have us prepared for next week, and the week after.

1) When we have a big lead at half we still sleepwalk. Sick of it..Play 60 MINUTES FULL THROTTLE!!! 7 points in the 2nd half and that was a pick 6. This type on mental play will get us beat this year by someone if it does not change.

2)Teams know how to shut our running game down now and only Hanks can get open against man-coverage.

3) Julio is good for at least 1 crucial drop every game. He's a 5-Star Athlete, a 5-Star blocker, and a 3-Star Receiver.

4) Defense is still getting shredded in the passing game and only getting bailed out by timely turnovers.

5) Ingram's Heisman hopes are done. 40 yrds??....over
I wouldn't call it "sleepwalking"; maybe oh I don't know Gene Stallings type conservatism, or just 20-22 year olds being that. Not sure.

No one has and no one will "shut down" or running game - TOO MUCH TALENT.

Yep he does, but dang almighty what he does the other 60 or so plays - from blocking to catching, to punishing dbs.

ZONE defense - big lead - already been said ad nauseam.

Oh well, I think I can sleep after point number 5.

Just relax my friend this is one heckuva a good football team. Young and growing up right in front of our eyes; it's a thing of beauty actually. RTR.

After 5 games Alabama is #1 in scoring defense, can't do any better than that.
After 5 games Alabama is 16th in scoring offense #1 in the SEC.
10th in the nation in pass efficiency.
10th in the nation in turnovers gained 2nd in the SEC behind Florida
2nd in the nation in pass interceptions behind #1 Florida.

Those are a few positives you may be overlooking. 31-6 against the #7 team in the nation is a beat down on a quality opponent who everyone expects to represent the East in the SECCG. You are overdue with your giving props sir.

surely, this is not for real. i love bama football, and i agree that the last two games have been topsy turvey. i mean the arks game we did not show up for most of the first half, and then we are a well oiled machine. this game we started with a desire for the national title, and we slowed it down inthe second half, because the defense was so productive. and i do understand coach sabans concerns about playing the 60 minute game. it worked all last year. i am so glad that our young men and i mean young on defense, are giving coach something to get on them about for the south carolina game. wow, what a brutal streak of games. i am sure carolina has enjoyed their week off.

We play poorly and still win. I don't know why that is. In last years game Florida had open guys who kept dropping the ball. Whew, lucky. Last night Florida kept throwing the ball to us (lucky again). And then in the Biggie, Colt got hurt (dodged the bullet there) and then his back-up gave the game to us. We certainly are a lucky team. I wonder what will happen if we get good and lucky at the same time?

Anyone want to elaborate on what point I am wrong about?? Yeah it was great to win...but those are all valid problems, areas that need improvement, and reality.
Reality is you have been a member of Tidefans for 2 years and you haven't brought much to the discussion of Alabama football. Posts such as the topic of this thread suggest you are only here to start stuff.

Sagarin had Florida ranked #2. We just crushed them.

If our defense has an issue at all, it would be leaking yards against a long field. In the red zone, the door slams shut.

This fact, plus a good Florida punter, a pick six, and Florida being forced to go for it on 4th down in the red zone, accounts for our apparent lack of offensive production in the second half. The offense was either not on the field, or backed up tight, or the defense was scoring.

Not sure I would enjoy seeing my next opponent ranked #1 in the nation and coming of a 31-6 win over the #7 team. ;)
Florida is SC only hiccup to playing in ATL in Dec again for a beatdown by the Tide. I can't wait to hear the quips from Spurrier when they play the Gators. I will have to look up where they're playing.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda........three words that should almost be thrown out of the English language. We coulda got beat by the #7 team in the country...we didn't, we shoulda ran the score up even knowing we'll play them again in December where they will have improved....we didn't, we woulda found something to complain about no matter what....I'm not gonna.

I thought our defense played tremendously. I wish we could have gotten those two sacks that we missed by Brantley ducking once and Marcel not getting a good hold the other time. The only disappointment I had was that the offense could not string together a drive which at least would just chew up the clock. I know we were not attacking as much offensively in the second half, but I thought we could at least run some clock out during the third and fourth quarters.

Good game though by the defense. A few mistakes, but nothing critical and definitely stepped up in key situations, especially inside our own 10 yard line.

They put 7-8 in the box and played man coverage. TR and MI barely had 100 yrds combined. Only Hanks can get open in man coverage....not a good recipe.
Keep in mind, not every secondary is as athletic as Florida's. LSU's the only other one we will face that does. That has alot to do with our receivers not getting open.
