OL is going to look like this in the fall, I think:

LT: Neal
LG: Dalcourt/Ekiyor (from RG)/T.Brown
C: Owens
RG: Ekiyor (unless moved to LG)/Dalcourt/T.Brown/Cohen
RT: Uh-oh.

That last one is where this has got to come together fast. Randolph was the best RT on the field Saturday, but he has not looked good there in prior game action. He's been more effective inside. Also, if he's your RT, there is no more flexing him to TE and pounding the ball in the running game, so it puts extra pressure on Latu and Ouzts especially to hold down the Y spot.

You have J.C. Latham, Damion George, maybe Cohen again at tackle. Brockemeyer needs weight, he's not not ready yet. You *might* get away with Tommy Brown going out there, but if you do that, then Bowles and Quick have to be ready at guard and Dalcourt has to stay healthy. I don't worry about the starting guard spots; I think those will jell quickly. But right tackle is going to worry me until I see 3-4 games of it.

And the pull-the-fire-alarm fix is to move Owens out from center, with Dalcourt taking over there ahead of McLaughlin.
Thanks Jess. With those unknowns and potential shifting around, might have to go some for a Joe Moore repeat !!

Not only is the depth of our backfield impressive, but I believe the explosiveness of this group as a whole will be among the best we have seen in a while. Really hope Trey can make a full recovery and contribute this year. I know some backs have trouble physically and/or mentally readjusting after a leg injuries, but I bet he will be ready to make a statement and play with confidence when the time comes.
The “ explosiveness of this group “ will, IMHO, hinge upon what happens with a rebuilt O line. It’s really hard to “explode” if you can’t get to the line of scrimmage.

We're still the most talented team in the nation, all our boys need, is reps in each position units getting used too each other's timing..Once our timing is down pat as a team..We might not get beat again this year..

Our S&C Coaches are amazing cause our players looks in better shape than I've ever seen them & we're faster looking on the football field..

How about trolling the portal or the Last Chance Us for a punter? Maybe you could convince a punter at a place like UConn to come to the Capstone and have a shot at winning a NC. Gus routinely found QBs in the Jucos. Surely Bama could find an average punter.

Listen, THANK YOU for an absolutely GREAT post!!!

I agree with you wrt Dale and saw nothing all that good about his game last year. I hope that he turns out to be an excellent player, but I would not be surprised if he transfers out.

BUT...this is Alabama, where you will make more long-term contacts and have a better chance of advancing your career than just about anywhere else, even if you are only there as insurance.
