I’ve heard the guy on JOX before and never think highly of his opinion in general. His content and interviews are forever more skewed in attempt to belittle success outside UGA and excuse the failures. It’s easy to claim Bama as 2nd tier when that’s what you’ve been hoping for all along, the GOAT retiring and the loss of key players and recruits.

He will be proven wrong. But he’ll manufacture excuses for the error as he’s always done.

If Alabama is second tier the entire sec is third tier. This has gotta be trolling or he means his prediction of us moving forward. We have won the sec so much more than everyone else this statement is ludicrous

1-5.

Methinks he doth protest too much.

The 2024 SEC Championship is Bama's 30th. That is more than Georgia (14) and Tennessee (13) combined.

Alabama has won SEC titles at a greater rate (8 of 50) without Bryant or Saban (22 of 42, 52%) than any other SEC program (UGA the closest 14 of 92, 15%). Even Bill Curry and Mike DuBose won SEC titles at Alabama. Curry had the worst winning % of any coach, with 5+ years, in UK history: 7 years 26-52. He also had the worst winning % of any coach, with 5+ years, in GT history: 7 years 31-43.

At Alabama he was 26-10, 72%, in 3 years with 1 SEC title.

Alabama has won NCs at a greater rate (5 NCs in 58 years) without Bryant or Saban than any other program, except ND (10 of 100) in the last 100 years. The only programs with more in 100 years than Alabama in 58 years are ND 10, OU 7, OSU 7, USC 6.

Back in November after beating Georgia Tech, Griffith was lauding Kirby and UGA for three straight years (21,22 and 23) going undefeated in the SEC East. So we know how weak SEC East has been in recent years. So who did UGA play from the West those years? Auburn (3), Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State. Not necessarily a gauntlet of SEC teams.

We've given this idiot (think Shakespeare's quote) more time than he deserves...his goal was to rile us up and he has succeeded. NEXT.
Nope. Hasn’t riled me. As stated I’ve heard his opinion many times before and you know his objective when he’s announced as a guest. Therefore I don’t bother to read anything he presents. Kinda like that annoying “know it all” in-law who won’t shut up and is the end-all “cuz I said so” argument.

Certainly not defending the guy, but by second tier, I think what he meant was that BAMA had been replaced by Texas as their chief concern. 🤔

I'm beginning to feel sorry for Mike Griffith. With the straightest of faces and the dead serious voice tone, he delivers giant whopper after giant whopper like he's addressing congress. This guy has Auburnitis (Severe delusion) to the max and is clearly working for the wrong team.
