Alabama has early lead in NCAA golf

Looks like it is 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, etc.

Kent State and FSU are about to tee off to settle the 8th place tie break and we'll play whoever wins.

The thing the coaches decide is the matchups within the seeding.

For example, if we play Kent State our matchups will be:

Alabama Kent State
Thomas (1) vs. Miller (4)
Whitsett (3) vs. Kmiecik (5)
Strohmeyer (5) vs. Pendrith (2)
Wyatt (2) vs. Conners (3)
Hamrick (4) vs. Hughes (1)

If Florida State wins our matchups will be:

Alabama Florida State
Thomas (1) vs. Lolas (5)
Whitsett (3) vs. Graham (3)
Strohmeyer (5) vs. Seiffert (4)
Wyatt (2) vs. Berger (2)
Hamrick (4) vs. Koepka (1)

We'll be the first match that tees off around 12:00PM.

The NCAA ruined the best amateur tournament with this format...even the coaches don't like it.
I heard the announcers talking about it. They weakly defended it, saying it adds "excitement".

It's just the direction we are headed as a country. Our post seasons are no longer trying to crown the most worthy team, they are attempting to make a spectacle. They want excitement and inclusion. Nevermind that this should, based on how they performed, come down to Alabama and UCLA today. Instead, Texas, who shot worst than Alabama in each round gets a chance in this format. I could even get match play if you went with seedings and just did it the whole way through. Texas at 1, Alabama at 2 and so on. But, to do three days of this and then go oh yeah, this doesn't really count? It's just what we've come to expect...

Although it is an individual event, the U.S. Amateur has had this format for eons. Two days of stroke play to determine seedings and then match play the rest of the way. This is a common format for many other amateur events as well. Don't know that I really care one way or the other, just want to see Bama win it all.

Bama up 3-2 early. Thomas is up 2 after 4 holes and Whitsett is up 3 after 4 holes. The rest are all within 1 of each other. Really solid start.

Now rests at 3-1-1 (All of our leaders have 2 or more stroke leads, with Thomas up 4 again). Wyatt is square against his partner, and Hamrick is only down 1 stroke. Through 6 for the lead pair, 3 for the final pair.

how are yall following this? I can see how many of our guys are winning but I cant find how many they are up
