Just released: “
The Southeastern Conference has announced it will conduct the 2020 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament with only essential staff, limited family and credentialed media in attendance at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for the remainder of the week beginning on Thursday following the recommendation of the NCAA COVID-19 Advisory Panel related to conducting sporting events closed to the public.
In addition, the SEC announced that all regular season contests in all sports on SEC campuses and SEC Championship events will be conducted with similar attendance restrictions effective Thursday, March 12 through at least March 30 at which time the conference and its member universities will re-evaluate conditions.”

I love DST. I would love to be on it year round.
BUT...
It ain't that simple.
This isn't an Alabama thing, it's a National thing.
The Federal gov. gets involved and these days what one party supports, the other party rejects.
Hard to see parties coming together to pass a bill that benefits the country.
We live in sad times.

From what Dr Fauci said today, I don’t see this getting better before A-day. So I would say probably don’t plan on attending any Alabama sporting events for the next few months

Posted a link to a site (over in one of the NS forums) that was done by a buddy, in the UK. He is in contact with someone over here who could be considered to be knowledgeable on this subject. Lots of good stuff.

Did his residency at UAB..................

A-Day will most likely be just essential personnel, like the current SEC guidelines for basketball.
If the university shuts down public gatherings there won’t be an A Day or any type of spring game, just another day of practice.

In the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 flu seasons the CDC estimated there were 61,000 and 34,000 deaths, respectively, in the USA alone from flu variances. No major sporting events were restricted, civic events postponed, no widespread closings of schools or financial markets affected.

IMHO this is a hysterical and ridiculous reaction in the media by people with various agendas. Will church services follow?
Wake up.

For our 60+ crowd, please take care of yourselves. You guys are a big deal to the rest of us. Extended family. So while this craziness continues, please take the conservative approach and let the young guns be cavalier.

We need you all to be here this fall. So God Bless. And please take care of yourself.

Hard to think of myself in that category...but at 69 I am...although in excellent health. Watching where I go and what I do...mostly home and on the golf course...Sunday at a small church...limiting exposure.

I am in the same boat but realizing now that this particular virus can be airborne and attacks the respiratory system. Having had bronchitis and pneumonia in the past I realize that this will be a monster to overcome.

Hmmm.

Will March Madness be cancelled? If not, the Selection Committee will have to base some decisions without the Conference Tournament(s)...
