Oklahoma state is really the only team that could ruin our chances for the BCS title game. They are 6th in the Harris and Coaches polls behind Stanford and Va Tech. Va Tech won today. Oklahoma State cannot rise in the computer rankings unless LSU loses.

Since Oklahoma State is 2nd in the computers, I believe Stanford and Va Tech victories are in our interest. That is because in the human polls, Oklahoma State is behind Tech and Stanford, so it makes it harder for OK State to jump us even if they beat Oklahoma because without an obvious agenda, Ok State cannot rise anymore in the polls unless Va Tech and Stanford lose. Even if they jump one of those schools, its hard to jump more than one school. Arkansas lost so they will drop in the coaches and Harris polls. Ok State could rise to 3 in the BCS.

Agree or disagree that Stanford and Va Tech victories benefit Alabama's hopes to get the BCS title game. This team deserves it and proved it tonight. I think we are in no matter what, but want to be sure.

1 LSU Tigers 12-0 1 2,875 1.0000 1 1,475 1.0000 1.0000 1.0000

If OSU wins over OU and the humans place OSU at a close #3 or even displace Bama at #2 then they will go to the BCS. I think a lot of it has to do with how much the voters want to see a rematch. They did something similar in 2006 favoring Florida over Michigan to go against tOSU. Of course if the Sooners win, then this becomes a nondiscussion. I don't think anyone else is within striking distance.

This. I continue to be amazed at those who think Mike Gundy has the chops to win big games like the upcoming Bedlam game.

I think OU will win the game, and that makes it all a moot point. The talking heads are all saying that they think its more than likely we are in, regardless. My point was a Va Tech and Stanford win makes it very hard if not impossible for OSU to catch us anyway.

Good luck to those trying to find a room and a ticket :BigA:

Even if they beat OU, they would have to STILL jump VaTech and Stanford in the human polls. Unless LSU loses, Okie State is screwed. They are way behind in the BCS when it comes to jumping us and they need a TON of help, not just a little. Our win today more than likely solidified our ranking in the human polls. We will not drop.

You mean it becomes a mute point? Gary Danielson probably thinks so.

Exactly, I was telling my husband that. If they both lost, all those votes could put okie st ahead of us.

Even if okie st wins next weekend I don't see how they could displace us. We are the best one loss team in the country, period.

I can't remember who said it, but they said in 2006 they had options to replace Michigan, this year there are no other options to Alabama. I thought that was very true, although some don't want a rematch, I believe the BCS will be scrapped if a loss to Iowa State suddenly is more acceptable than a loss to the undisputed #1, undefeated, SEC champ.

This. If you look at the one loss teams and do a neutral comparison, we are the best one loss team. No crimson colored glasses needed.
