Alexei Navalny Dies

The one thing certain about his death is that he did not follow the common Russian practice of foes of Putin falling out of a window as there were no tall buildings available where he was jailed.

This element…the MAGA’s being openly friendly towards Putin and hostile towards NATO and Ukraine is beyond awful. I’ve struggled to live around Trump fans but they take it to a new low when they turn pro Putin.

we still have several months to the election. they are going to get a lot worse

The official story seems to be he died while out on a walk. The weather report from where he was held was about 5 degrees below zero. Perfect weather for a stroll.

Rather than vote to continue aid to Ukraine, instead Mike Johnson puts the House in recess for the next two weeks.

When the news about Navalny broke, Johnson had the unmitigated gall to release the following statement:

“As international leaders are meeting in Munich, we must be clear that Putin will be met with united opposition,” Speaker Mike Johnson said in a Friday statement. “As Congress debates the best path forward to support Ukraine, the United States, and our partners, must be using every means available to cut off Putin’s ability to fund his unprovoked war in Ukraine and aggression against the Baltic states.”

Putin failed to kill Navalny by poisoning him a few years back and he was rushed to Germany where his life was saved. Navalny would still be alive today (probably) if he had stayed in the west but he loved Russia and made the decision to return. However, he was soon arrested on trumped up charges and sent to the Gulag. The report that he collapsed while out walking is ludicrous. Who would be going for a walk in the arctic circle at this time of year which is where his prison is located? Chalk up the death of another Putin rival.

That was Putin's calling card - "wink, wink, nudge, nudge - look and learn." This could happen to you. It's no more believable than the epidemic window falls...

Navalny knew this day would come when he returned to Russia after his poisoning.
Like another Russian dissident, Vladimir Kara-Murza, who also went back to Russia. When a colleague told him, "Vladimir, if you go home, you'll be imprisoned and eventually killed." Kara-Murza responded, "I am a Russian politician. A Russian politician's place is in Russia." He, too, is now wasting away in a Russian prison.
This happens because the Russian people tolerate it.

After Tubberville‘s remarks about Putin being at the top of his game and how Putin was forced by the U.S. policy to invade Ukraine…
And given Tubby’s obsession with having coached and wanting to still be addressed as Coach…

The next time Tubberville takes questions he should be asked if he was pleased Putin put Navaly in a pine box.
And then ask him if he thinks the chances of more aid for Ukraine are also in a pine box.

When Tubby, affectionally known as Wingnut, was coaching at the Barn, he would get real testy when reminded of his pine box promise. If someone asks Senator Wingnut anything to do with a pine box he might melt down.

Romney is as disgusted as anybody. He said Putin was our worst threat when he ran for President.
Maybe he will make some political ads endorsing Biiden before it’s over.

if someone told me ten years ago one day I would have a favorable opinion of Romney and Liz Cheney I would have just laughed.
