an Awburn coworker thoughts about their injured RBs

So, ran across an Awburn coworker. Got the usual obligatory congratulations out of the way. Then he asked "what do you think our chances of beating Georgia again?". Which I replied I thought they'd still beat them, but will be much harder with the number of their injured running backs. Even their third string RB got hurt. He insinuated that it may have been deliberate... sigh. My only comment was there was nothing deliberate and gave him the stink eye. What a childish notion.

Auburn fans- Meh- The petulant children of the SEC.

I would have had to bite my tongue to keep from insinuating that Chandler Cox's block on Hootie Jones, while legal, was a deliberate attempt to inflict injury.

I don't know about the martin kid...but karyon took a good CLEAN shot from Ronnie (unlike their hb torpedoing Hootie's knee) and then he went out for good (after getting shot up in the tent) without any contact. Tell me how that's deliberate! I will say this. All these folks calling for changes to tackling (i.e. going to the roll tackle) need to watch what they wish for. We will start seeing more ankle/knee injuries due to the grab, slide, roll tackle.

Ridiculous - @ 6 foot 210 Kerryon is not really built to take the pounding 32 carries against UGA and 30 carries against Alabama puts on you in a 3 week span. He has had to carry the load since Pettway went down and it has taken a toll on him. He is a great kid, had a great game against us and I wish him the best, but he should have listened to Saban and become a DB. He has been hurt every year.

Winning wasn't enough? They still had to accuse Alabama of dirty play? That's the kind of person with whom I would never talk football. What good could come of it?

Auburn is one of the dirtiest teams I've ever seen. They got away with defensive holds all day against Georgia AND Alabama. Plus we all remember the RPO play where they had half of their team downfield in 2013. Not to mention the chop block brothers back in the day. Auburn fans need to shut the hell up about someone else being dirty. I hope Georgia kicks their ......

when I saw Kerryon Johnson dropped to the ground on his own, my first initial reaction was poor kid Gus really did him in good!
all my years of watching CFB, I have never seen a player decide on his own to take a knee and slump over.

It reminded me of an MMA fighter where they suddenly realize something is wrong (even 10+ seconds after taking a shot) and have done similar drop downs/wave offs of the action.

Ronnie Harrison brings the wood every time. If Raekwon Davis had his mentality, someone would get seriously injured.

I made a longer post on the subject of some Auburn fans. Basically, they're real life trolls. I can't believe a lot of Alabama fans go through their life engaging them in conversation or letting them get to them.

I tried to avoid it until they start talking stupid crap. They are so easy to shut down because most have no clue. I don't trash talk so I don't hear trash talk very often thank goodness.

Troll would mean he had intent to rile me up. He actually meant it.

After watching the game in Denver at a Bama pub, we made it back to the Springs and stopped at the Taco Bell. I was wearing my Bama jersey.

This huge guy (not intimidating because he was heavy more than anything) wearing a blue and orange sweatshirt smirked to me: "Why are you wearing that jersey after getting beat today?"

I said "why not?" ... he said nothing for a second. Then says, "well I'm not a fan of either team."

And then I asked "why would you even ask such a thing if that's the case?"

I had a few choice words for him that I won't repeat here and he broke off eye contact and started fiddling with his smart phone.

I wasn't terribly upset after the game -- we got beat -- when that happens I can generally be stoic but man this guy really burned me up. In the middle of Colorado? lol Anyways, most Auburn fans/friends I know (at least out here and those I served with) are fantastic people. I suppose there are jerks of every stripe though in ever corner of the world. In a way, I am happy for my friends who get to experience a big win but that's about it. I can't be happy for jack-wagons like this guy no matter what.

The community that I grew up in Birmingham was 75% Auburn fans and some of them were decent people. But the vast majority of them were obnoxious d-bags with a major chip on their shoulder. I honestly feel like some Alabama fans stole their girlfriends/boyfriends when they were young. They hated Alabama like they were the Taliban or something. It also dosen't help when most of the state media is on their side and fuel the hatred. It's not good and it divides people in every walk of life in this state.
