Andre Smith Talks Recruiting

I think the main reason that Andre hasn't scheduled an official visit is that he has already seen so much of what the campus has to offer over the years and through his unofficial visits this year. I think he feels that spending an official on Bama, who is in right in his backyard, is a bit of waste and he is using his officials on harder to visit schools in California, Florida, etc.

While I know this article didn't sound great, remember that a lot of recruiting analysts have been calling Andre a Bama lean for months and one (Dooley, Lemming? I don't remember) went so far as to call him a Bama lock. These guys aren't always right, but, it is a lot better omen for him to be considered a Bama lean or lock by the observers than otherwise. Also, remember that Andre has a cousin on the Tide.

My opinion - Andre will be our version of Tebow & how he went down with the Gators... he will flirt his other schools and even seriously consider one or two of them and he will probably even scare the living daylights out of all of us, but, at the end of Signing Day, he will end up on the Tide.

Wish I had your confidence, but I dont. I dont see us getting folks like Smith or Tebow until we start winning the games that we cant right now. Look at Georgia. Before Richt, they finished in the pack for recruiting. Now that they look like a consistent force, their recruiting is very very good. According to ESPN, they have 10 of the top 100. Before Richt, I dont think they recruited as well.

Geez - Rivals has us ranked # 7 overall, so far. We will pick up some more commitments (maybe some big name ones at that) and still should finish in the top ten. I think that is incredible. This has been a stellar recruiting year and I believe will finish strong - there are no indications to say that it won't.

Here's for hoping:) Roll Tide

Does look better this year than in the last few. But until we win the games we cant win now, we wont get the Tebows and Smiths. It says a lot for Shula that we are recruitiing as well as we are now.

I said before ,we wouldnt get Tebow. If we sign Smith, I would happily eat some crow......

We wouldn't have gotten Tebow if we had won the NC last year and was playing for it this year. Of course that is only my opinion! ;) Now we have yet to lose Smith so maybe you will or maybe you won't eat crow, but from what every expert that I have heard or read say he will be signing with us come february.

You might start thinking about how you want your crow. ;)

I would like BayouTider to cook it for me. If you have read his cooking notes on the Grillin and Chillin forum, you would think he could make crow taste pretty good..............

3 crows
1 Tbsp lard/shortening
1 pint stock or gravy
2 Tbsp cream
1/2 cup mushrooms
salt and pepper
cayenne pepper

Clean and cut crows into small portions and let them cook a short time in the lard/shortening in a saucepan, being careful not to brown them.
Next, add to the contents of the pan, the stock or gravy, and salt, pepper and cayenne to taste.
Simmer 1 hour, or until tender, add mushrooms, simmer 10 minutes more and then stir in cream.
Place crows on a hot platter. Serve with steamed rice topped with mushroom gravy and fried okra fritters.
