Any news on Prothro?

This past April during my last semester at UA, the week before finals, I got sick and spent eight days in the hospital. I missed my finals, but all of my professors were very understanding. When the semester ended and they had to assign grades, they assigned me an "incomplete." They told me to take my time and that as soon as I felt up to it, they would let me make up my finals and would change my grade from incomplete to whatever I earned. I took them all in late May about two weeks late, but they told me that I didn't have to be in that big of a hurry. One of my professors told me that I could have all summer to make it up if I needed to.

If they were that understanding with me, I cannot imagine them not being equally understanding for TP, especially when he spent about three times as much time in the hospital as I did, and his injury was seen on national television. Due to the timing, his situation will be a little different than mine in that I only missed a week of classes and only had to make up my finals where he missed several weeks of classes and probably much more tests and assignments. But, I'm sure that we'll see them use the same kind of understanding and find a way to work something out with him the same way they did for me.

Prothro Sighting!

I saw Pro & G. McClain at the Lineville - Clay County game (Clay Bowl II) last Friday night. I didn't attempt to talk with them since they were drawing so much attention. Pro walked in on crutches and had that big smile on his face! He walked up and down the stairs with little assistance. So I believe he is in good spirits. Thought I would pass this on. P.S. I enjoy reading all info from everyone. I prefer staying in the background instead of getting in way of you seasoned veterans! But thought everyone would like this tidbit of info. :)

It's just one big community, one big conversation here...so happens, some talk more than others but it is like that anywhere. Don't let your "rookie" status keep you from joining in...

believe it or not, there are some professors who would probably be b-holes about a high profile scholarship athlete because they're bitter and militant about the majority of society caring more about football than literature.

...and many of our players received standing ovations when they entered the classroom after UF and UT.

If a prof. knows his environment, he'd respect what drives the University. Witt is bringing the academic side to the fore-front nationally...but with every successful season the football team has, the freshman enrollment increases.

I personally just hope that he can walk normally again. Once that happens I'll worry about him playing again. WE should keep him in our prayers that he can have a swift and smooth recovery.

here's a picture I took of Pro at the Auburn game...

I saw Tyrone on Friday. He's doing what he should be -- which is not doing too much of anything. He still has the crutches and he has help from his brother and some other people in doing little things. It's probably going to be a while before he is back to 100%, but he's in good spirits and is getting a little better each day.

That's ALL good to hear. It must be very tough for an athlete like TP.

He'll be back.

I haven't seen anything about him other than the phrase "since Protro's been gone".

So I was wondering if anyone had any new on how he was coming along. Is he still in a wheel chair and do the docs think he will be able to walk normally again, or anything like that.

Thanks.
Actually he was on crutches during the LSU game.He was being very careful whenever anyone got close to his leg.Closner was sitting by him and he too was very careful not to let anyone bump his leg.
Thanks for the signature's Prothro.Closner
I have a pic if you would like it e-mailed to you.
