....that Bama is about to close extremely strong in recruiting? We've had a good class thus far and commitments from any of the guys left on our board would solidify the class. However, we have a solid chance at finishing EXTRAORDINARILY WELL with some of the late additions to the visit calendar. I just have one of those feelings that we are going to get at least 2 big time signees, maybe 3, to close out the class. This is my take on the remaining prospects:
Manson -- Our top RB prospect is all but gone to UF, but this may not be as big with Walker and Giles solidly in the mix now.
Walker -- I think Bama has less than a 50% chance, but a great visit could swing things our way. I think Shula would take him or Manson, so first to commit may get the scholly.
Giles -- I think Lavarus is right behind Manson and Walker, but if he is willing to commit early he may win out. I believe Giles is the most likely RB to be signed.
Washington -- I believe Washington is all but committed to Bama. He will have a good shot at early PT and will be an impact player.
Miller -- Something in my gut makes me think we will get him. Don't ask me why. I just feel it. This would be crowning jewel in this year's class. A great visit will help immensely.
Gandy -- I don't like our chances here. Something tells me Gandy is going to end up at Ole Miss. Again, just reading the tea leaves.
Jones -- This one is a tossup. If we somehow get Miller, Jones may end up at LSU. If Miller passes, I like our chances with Jones.
Kendrick -- I really think this is the top receiver target, but he may wait too late to commit. We'll see.
Hall -- I think Hall will stay in Florida.
Brown -- Brown will likely commit. He is a late bloomer, but willingness to commit early may push either Kendrick or Hall out of the picture. If Bama could get Kendrick and Brown, I think we would figure out a way to take them.
I really think Bama is looking for about 6 more commitments. Here is my best guess on who they will be:
Walker or Giles
Washington
Miller
Jones
Brown
Kendrick
If we only sign one more WR, then we could take Walker AND Giles, but it is not likely to happen.
If we were to sign all these kids, it could arguably be the greatest "probation inhibited" class of all time.
Thoughts?
