Anyone Worried About 2006 Defense?

The main reason i'm not worried about the 2006 defense is...........

15 of our top 17 Offensive players returning (to the best of my knowledge)....
Returning Punter, Returning Kicker, Returning Kick Returner, Punt Returner, Holder, Deep Snapper, Simeon Castille, Ramzee Robinson, Garth Simpson, Gilberry............

Shula, Kines, Rader............

I am worried about the 4 games left on this years schedule! Its silly to worry about next year when we are midway into this season! We will have plenty of things to worry about during the offseason and I am sure that the 06 Defense will be one of them!

I know how this sounds before I write it, but I'm only concerned about 2 games, untill we get to the SECCG

I'll worry about 2006 when it gets here. I'm much too proud of 2005's young men. I trust these coaches to be excellent teachers and I trust the team next
year will also be at the top of the chain. I'm too thrilled with what we have to worry about what we might not have. Matter of fact, we'll be talking about this Alabama team 20 years from now. Don't let anything spoil it.

Breakin' it down for '06 ... NT - D.Lee,Adams,Walton DT - Clark,Britt,Was hington,Fanney SE - Gilberry,Saunders,Deaderick,Huber WE - Harris,Greenwood SLB - T.Jones,Schreiber,Anders MLB - Collins,Hall WLB - Simpson,Waldrop,Stamps SS - Keys,M.Carter FS - Dukes,Reamer,A.Mcdaniel LCB - T.Castille,Gray,Rogers RCB - R.Robinson,L.Mitchell,T.Robinson Plus the '06 class . It would seem that the area of concern woud be at safety . Hopefully the back-ups have earned the snaps they will receive against Utah State this weekend . Dukes and Keys MUST have MORE game reps ! Collins , T.Jones , Waldrop and Greenwood could ues some more as well . Others ??? Maybe ... Stamps , Gray , Mitchell .

Worried about 2006 Defense...

I'm more worried about the 2209 season than anything. No on has been born yet that will play that year and doggone it, I for one am worried about it!

My main concern about 06 is the secondary, Its probably the hardest position to learn other than QB, we do have some good young talent, but they have not been on the field as much as I'd hoped and the injury to Corey Reamer really hurt because I'm pretty sure he won't be back for spring and I'm not sure about fall either, I expect we will go after some young guys in recruiting this year and DB and LB. That Higgenbotham kid blew his knee as well, I imagine that will result in a redshirt year to get him back to full strength.

Dispite all the recent success, in some areas Alabama is still a place you can come and play immediately. Which makes it even more impressive that Shula has beaten teams that pratically redshirt their entire freshman class as a matter of policy and often have 5 star guys work for years just to get on the field.

The only thing I worry about is replacing our linebacking corp. I think we're good in the secondary and on the defensive front.
