The biggest concern I've heard most teams have with Newton in the draft is that there just isn't enough game film on him at this point.

Another Vince Young?? These college "running" QBs have a very hard time in the NFL. Only Dogman Vick has done well. Young has stunk. CamDollars will have to be able to throw in the NFL to play in the NFL. Already Young is probably going to be looking for a new team, or Tennessee a new coach.

Young will most likely win the battle between him and Jeff Fisher since Bud Adams is calling the shots.

Meanwhile vick is tearing up the NFL right now. you may hate him, and hope for him to flop in the league but as long as hes bigger, taller and stronger than everyone else hes a first round pick, character isssues and lack of tape aside.
If al davis is still alive and he can get a first round pick, Newton goes to Oakland, bank on it.

With all due respect, I don't think anybody's bringing race into the discussion except you. I think the point that's being made is that scrambling quarterbacks don't tend to do well in the NFL. There are exceptions of course: Vick, Tark and a few others. But by and large, pro-style QB's have more success. Hence the term "pro-style". CN may be successful in the league, but big league LBs tend to be faster, stronger and hit harder. Scrambling may not be quite as easy for Cam at the next level. Vince Young was good in college also.

Are you kidding? Yeah, he's a great runner, but he also has a great arm, very strong and with good touch. A glowing endorsement by Gil Brandt is nothing to be taken lightly.

i hate the guy, and well he shouldnt be allowed to play college ball, however he's a fist round pick. Has a much better delivery than young and as i said vick is setting the example that a "running qb" is still worth a ton of money, especially if he has a big arm and looks like a DE.

Folks in Dallas don't think that highly of him, as they did in the Cowboys' heyday. Maybe that is why he is still a consultant.

VY currently has a .666 winning percentage, which is 5th best in the league among QBs with a minimum of 20 starts.

But I doubt Cam can afford the paycut. He's rumored to be staying at Auburn so he can help his daddy keep his church afloat.
You may be too young to remember Randall Cunningham of the Eagles. He had a very nice career long before Vick.
