Question: Are schools fed up with NCAA in relation to Camgate

Could the recent ruling be fuel to those who want to disband/leave the NCAA? UGA has a great reason to find this ruling on Cam incredulous in regards to AJ. Bama has reason with Gilbert and Andre. Heck, many schools could raise a cacophony of voices over how this is incongruous in relation to the rules.

Agreed...I certainly voted them down years ago. This group is nothing more than a bunch of pinheaded socialists with way too much power and arrogance to boot.

Arkansas should be representing the SEC West this weekend against USC due to Cam being ineligible (no one other than barn fans thinks he isn't).
Arky has really been screwed in all of this.

This is a bad precedent if it holds up, but I'm seeing lots of nat'l media saying it isn't over...we'll see. It will be interesting to see how other conferences/schools respond to this.

I don't understand why there can't be a set of consequences for rules violations like in the NFL. If you do A or something close to A, then this is the consequence. If you do B or something close to B, this is the consequence. No arbituary ruling, no arbituary punishment.

I imagine the NCAA would do a quick search and determine all the comments are coming from BAMA fans who truly have bones to pick with them AND would negate us for just that! Stupid NZAAs. I depise them.

This would be too simple and put them all out of their power hold!!! Unfortunately this is how the world turns. Not necessarily the NCAA, but SO many organizations are only created due to ppl being power hungry and trying to get their 15 mins...

I'm not as upset as most, but to answer the topic of this post, I wouldn't say that schools are fed up, but they're a little confused. Check this out.

Although the investigation is "ongoing", this ruling bucks all precedents. In 95, Damon Stoudemire was suspended for a game at Arizona when his dad allegedly accepted a plane ticket from a rogue agent. Damon's dad never admitted to it. They had no proof that Reggie Bush knew about his parents accepting all that they did, but they put the hammer down on SC. And this kid with Kentucky basketball this season TURNED DOWN 6 times as much as Cecil Newton was going after, and he's been declared permanently ineligible.

Dan Wetzel on Finebaum earlier today said that he'd talked to some college coaches around the country and they're all stunned.

Pat Haden, USC Athletic Director, has also been VERY vocal. Saying that when this EXACT situation came about, the player AND the school was punished.

So...if the investigation is ongoing, we shall see.

So, if a kid is getting shopped...there is no evidence that he was involved, and there is no evidence that the school he is currently at did any wrongdoing, why should he not play??? I actually applaud the NCAA for not completely screwing over the kid for once...i usually hate the NCAA for their stupid rules that can work against the kids they are supposedly trying to protect, but here they did the right thing

Now, if new evidence comes out later that he did know, then that's where the NCAA and the NFL need to work out some sort of system where the player is punished after the fact bc right now, the players get of without anything...But, as of now, there is NOTHING that indicates Cam was anything but a victim of his sleeze-ball dad, so why should he pay the price?

You know, I truly don't think all the comments they're going to be receiving would be from Bama fans. USC will not be happy, for one, and there are many others. They are creating a terrible precedent and people around the country are pointing that out right now and probably will continue to do so.

You're using logic. And logic has RARELY ever been used by the NCAA in decision-making in the past. Starting now doesn't make a lot of sense, especially when it flies in the face of the way the rules are set up.

They should just make it clear, you can buy 25 players a year as long as the money goes to the parents, with deniability of knowledge from the student athlete.

The rich schools will bid the most on the top players, and once they fill their allotment and their recruiting class is full, play ball.
