I went to today's game. A decent crowd and a great day for baseball, except for the strong wind blowing in from right field. In fact, I think that played a big factor in the game. The Ark. RF played, what we called in softball, as a short fielder all day. By doing so, he was able to steal at least three, maybe four hits (and at least one run) in the game.

Our pitching was pretty good today, theirs was just better. I thought for sure Dugas was going to get us to extra innings in the ninth (tying run was on third), but it wasn't to be.

We have a three game lead over Miss. State and Ole Miss, four over Arkansas and LSU, and five over auburn.

A big series next weekend, traveling to #1 Vandy.

As good of a loss as you can have in this conference IMO. Arkansas' bullpen was exceptional, shutting us down in the late innings. IMO Tucker pitched very poorly today for his standards and still pitched a pretty good game, keeping us in it-Tucker has a very bright future as a contact pitcher-likely the most first pitch balls and getting behind we will see from him this year.
I am absolutely thrilled to take 2/3 this weekend and still be where we are in the conference standings, this team and coaching staff is doing an outstanding job. If we can avoid the sweep this weekend at Vanderbilt I think we will be feeling pretty good about ourselves.
