Dre and Dee are going to be studs, but they are freshmen. Menzie is not 100% and Jones, Lester, and Lowery are 1st year players. Barron is our only returning player with any experience and Robby Green made a poor choice and lost a year of eligibilty. We lost 4 seniors (Arenas, Woodall, Johnson and Sharrief) and Kareem Jackson early to the draft. Counting Green we lost 6 major contributors in the defensive backfield. Think about this minute, and then think about that we are breaking 2 freshmen and 5 first year players overall in our defensive backfield and we still lead the nation in interceptions. They have done this with almost no pass rush, and they have played lights out at times this year. The talent is there and that's what you get in recruiting. So what are you saying isn't his finest effort - his recruiting or his coaching?

For me just because I said, "we was completely out coached today" doesnt mean I think our coaching staff is bad. It means they got there butts handed to them and they need to work harder, just like when we say the "team got outplayed" sometimes. Everyone has a bad day at work and our coaches did. Thats all. We had 2 weeks to prepare for this game and I saw nothing that we prepared for. It was VERY obvious Les and LSU prepared and was ready for us. They had schemes, wrinkles, fakes and it just seemed we was just lining up and hoping to come out on top.

Now that I think about it, we did prepare and execute one thing. The pitch to Ingram to the left for the TD. I was like, OMG, did we just throw a wrinkle and pitch it to the outside, WOW, we actually mixed it up for a second and it worked. But then it was to late and our D couldnt stop anyone at that point.

Just like a player has to make a play sometimes for the team, a coach has to make a play sometimes too, being Fair, Les did that.

I know we'll bounce back and maybe we learned something from this. Who knows but I'll always appreciate our coaching staff and look forward to the next game for a different thread to post on.

I still think we beat Miss St., Curry, and the Barn.

I'll preface this by saying I'll take Nick Saban any day of the week over any coach in America. That being said, the LSU staff made excellent choices in their decisions and trusting their players in crucial situations and in return the players executed very well. Alabama seemed to only come trough when there was a sense of urgency and this is a habbit they need to break. Alabama needs to enforce that killer instinct more consistently.

I just don't see how this loss is such a big surprise to anyone or why it has to be some big reason like we were out coached, had no heart, out hussled, etc... If you have two teams closely matched in talent don't you always figure home field is worth a couple points? To me it played out just like the statistics said it would. In this case home field was worth 3 points to them.

yep and had one or two plays in games last year turned out differently, we could have easily lost to v tech, tennessee, LSU, auburn and texas.

unlike many "top" teams, we play in a big boy conference where there are very few gimmes and even the gimmes can sneak up on you.

i think that the SEC is still far and away the best conference in the US. some years, we just beat the crap out of each other and we are going to be on the receiving end of some of those beatings.

I sure hope we get Cyrus...because we need him and his brother Arie on the O-line quickly.

And yes, the front seven on D were suppose to be "so deep".......boy, that sure didn't materialize. No push on the line, and the LB's have been so/so.
