As Great as Saban is, he was out-coached by Les Miles Today

Too much predictiblity on the play-calling..........did not get LSU off-balance. Relied to much on th power O.

Saban was out-coached today. He has the better players talent-wise and in terms of depth, but could not pull it togther.

You guys may get mad when I say this, but MeElroy might be a A-/B+ QB overall, but he has become a D when it comes to unloading the ball when the pressure is coming right at him...this has killed us.

The 2010 Bama team was pretty good, but too many holes to be the NC.

Next year!

In a dream world
What is upsetting is there were absolutely no second half changes by Bama. Seemly lsu and his offensive staff were able to do what Bama would not.

I dunno about being out-coached...

But one play where I'd concede the point is the fake kick. Given Miles' reputation and past fake kicks, I'm surprised we weren't playing for the fake. That shouldn't have slipped past us IMO.

It happens. He's human. He's not Jesus. You win the NC and you play 12 national championship games the next season. What it looks to me is we're reloading and that means grinding your teeth with youth and inexperience. Coach Saban is still a great coach.

I said the same thing to my wife after the 4th down reverse in the 4th quarter. Knowing the hat's propensity for trickery, we should have been ready for something like that. We were outcoached, outplayed, and outmanned, especially at the line of scrimmage.

Like I said, Saban was out-coached.

Yes, McElroy needs to learn how to unload the ball.

Yes, there is almost no pass-rush it seems.

Yes, the secondary blows assignments and gives up 75 yard TD's darn near every game.

Can't win a gun fight usually with a .38 when the others have AK-47s!

I still think we have the players to be 13-0 this year, they just didn't buy into the system.....think I heard Saban elude to that a dozen times so far this year.....don't really remember hearing that last year (although undefeated had it's perks).

Chipeace is correct in that Bama does not have better talent than LSU. They're equal at the very most.

Saban did get outcoached today though. It happens.

Sorry, I'm really not buying the argument that we have far superior talent on the field and should never lose a game. We lost it happens. There is plenty of work to be done in numerous areas.

I don't know I would say out coached. If the fake punt does not work, the hatter looks like an idiot. The 3rd & 13 to seal the game was a gutsy call and probably thrown away if Milner doesn't bust his assignment. I feel for Milner, he just thought he had deep help and froze for a second. I did get ....ed when several in the bar commented "bleepin Milner, what an embarrasment". Win or lose Milner is our starting DB and he only grows from this. Besides that 1 play did not cost us the game.

The defense is extremely young and quite frankly will learn a lot when they look at the film. Beat Miss St & Auburn we are 10-2. While probably no BCS bowl, a trip to Orlando isn't to shabby.

:BigA:I agree that we have the best coach in the nation, however today was not his best performance. Our team looks like an NFL team as to our attitude. We are playing uninspired and look like we are bored. The Hat played to win and Coach Saban played to get to the next play.

Our players are getting whipped on both sides of the line of scrimmage and look like we have lead in our cleats. I do not care what kind of great skill position players we sign, if we cannot dominate the line of scrimmage we will continue to lose to average teams. I want an offensive line like we had when Glenn Coffee ran wild. Back then if they but 25 men in the box it did not matter. We would still just run it down their throats. Play action meant something.

McElroy continues to take unnecessary sacks that turn out to be drive killers. Our vaunted defense looks like we are just trying to hang on. Not going out and dominating our opponents.

Now that the NC and SEC Championships are out of reach, lets get some more participation from the underclassmen. I want AJ to get some real playing time. Thanks for the ride Seniors. Now it is on to next year.

lose a game, he's lost two very recently.......sorry bud, in this kind of programs two loses before the bowl game, and that wasn't a good season.

Don't fool yourself, Saban won't sleep tonight...he knows that his players had some major screw-ups, and unfortunately Nick could have performed better too. They had several chances to give themselves a cushion in the first half, and could not deliver. NS needed to throw the balance off the LSU D, but kept with the power game too long. How many draws do you remember? How many QB fakes/draws? When the D is balanced, it's too easy......why not knock it off and spread it out?

An od college coach next to me at the game brought up this point.

I'd say that the coaching was about even, which is quite a compliment to Miles, and their execution was just better. On the fourth and one, the guy responsible for contain let himself get drawn inside. On the fake punt, and several of the early options the defense was playing without discipline (yes, the coach is responsible for getting them to play their assignments, but leading a horse to water and all that...)

More disappointed in the continued lack of pocket presence and ability to read the defense today.

It just doesn't seem CNS's heart was in it today
This comment has been made several times over the past few weeks. Would be interesting to go back and watch Saban's body language last year compared to this year. Wow, so glad I don't have that guy's job :).
