Let's recap...
Allen denies rumors that he is waffling on his commitment. Then his brother decides to transfer, and he claims he is taking visits to help his brother find a school, but that he is still committed to Alabama. In hindsight, this is a complete and total lie.
And then, after our in-home visit with Bo Davis, he apparently stops accepting phone calls from Saban and the rest of our staff. And then, 36 hours before the start of National Signing Day, Allen has his father call our coaching staff and inform them that they have changed directions. In other words, his own damn kid didn't even have the guts to pick up the phone and make the call himself. And now it looks like his entire family will uproot and move to California on a whim, or both he and his brother will sign with a school that they have never even visited before (even on an unofficial basis).
So... yeah.
No need to mince words, good riddance on this young man. Truth be told, we should all be thrilled at the news of this, because this is exactly the kind of kid / family situation that can quickly form a cancer that invades an entire football program. He's one hell of a talent, no doubt about that, but even so best of luck to whoever "wins" his signature, because you'll probably need it.
P.S. I'll go along with the above poster who said that, given all that has happened, something extremely fishy is going on with this kid. And with our probationary status with the NCAA, frankly this is the exact kind of situation that we need to avoid. I imagine Saban feels the same way. As I mentioned in another thread, I'd be shocked if Saban and company even sent him a LOI on NSD, or gave him the fax number.
