Suspect Fires 2 Guns Simultaneously During Shootout With Police

Moses Lake, Washington — On May 4, 2024, at around 8:20 p.m., officers with the Moses Lake Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the Motel 6 in Moses Lake. Body camera footage shows the suspect, 37-year-old Zachary Allen Stockton, locking himself in a room. According to a probable cause affidavit, Stockton had threatened to kill his girlfriend for allegedly cheating on him and allegedly pointed the barrel of a gun at her chest. During the confrontation, the victim managed to message or call someone from her phone, directing them to contact 911. Moses Lake Police Sgt. Adam Munro was the first to arrive at the scene with Officer Todd Taylor in tow. The footage shows Sergeant Munro attempting to negotiate with the suspect, pleading with him not to shoot. Almost immediately after, Stockton exited the motel room with two guns and opened fire at police. Multiple rounds of shots were fired from Stockton until both Sgt. Munro and Ofc. Taylor returned fire, hitting Stockton and incapacitating him. He was then taken into custody. Stockton was treated at a hospital and was later jailed in Grant County. According to court documents, Stockton is being held without bail and faces three counts of first-degree assault, one count of second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. A vehicle used for cover during the incident was found to have eight bullet holes, attributed to shots fired by Stockton. During the incident, Sgt. Munro was shot through the foot. He had surgery Sunday and is recovering. Sgt. Munro has been with the Moses Lake Police Department for 14 years. He is a firearms instructor and a former member of the regional SWAT team. Sgt. Munro is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Ofc. Taylor has been with the Moses Lake Police Department for six years. He serves as a field training officer. Prior to working for MLPD, Ofc. Taylor worked at the Grant County Jail for 15 years. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran.

The Florida sheriff’s deputy who fatally shot a Black airman in his home has been fired, the sheriff’s office announced Friday.

The decision followed an internal investigation into the former deputy, Eddie Duran. This is the first time Duran’s identity has been publicly disclosed since the shooting earlier this month. A separate criminal investigation into the deputy’s actions is ongoing with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

“The administrative investigation determined the deputy’s use of deadly force was not objectively reasonable and therefore violated agency policy,” a news release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office stated.

They should take the people who left this dog in that hot truck....and put THEM in the same truck in the same way they left the poor dog.

This is inexcusable! 🤬

New Smyrna Beach officers pulled a dog from a hot U-Haul truck after the pup’s owners left it in the vehicle so they could go to the beach, according to the department.

Bradenton, Florida — On July 8, 2024, at around 11:46 a.m., Bradenton Police officers responded to reports of a dog in distress, locked in an SUV in 90-degree heat. On officer-worn body camera video, Sgt. Bordin can be seen breaking the front passenger side window of the SUV. The dog can be heard crying inside. The temperature inside the vehicle was significantly higher, and it appeared the dog had been left alone for quite some time. The poor girl downed a liter of water before being taken for a checkup. The dog's owner was located, however, the dog remains in the custody of animal services while the investigation continues.

Florida is among 11 states that allow law enforcement or bystanders to forcibly enter a vehicle to rescue a pet in danger of overheating. According to statute 768.139, those who damage a vehicle in the pursuit of removing a vulnerable animal from dangerous conditions are immune from civil liability.

I also saw it yesterday. Dude has ruined his life, his family’s life, and the life of the family of the dead woman. Killing someone has far reaching consequences.

I agree 100%. This made my blood boil because this lady reminded me of many of my client's in my mental health days. I said it all the time then and I'll say it again now: law enforcement is NOT capable of properly handling someone with serious MI.

We don't know that she was ill. She was religious, that's for sure. Her rebuking him in the name of Jesus was what killed her...
