Bama and Ga Tech in 2006 and 2007?

In that photo, it looks like there are almost as many UGA fans as GT fans. The whole upper deck in the endzone is red and there are a lot of redshirts mixed in with the others in the stadium. on a side note, i wouldnt know what it is like to be in a stadium that small. i've never made the trek over to starkvegas, but i plan to this year. guess i will find out then.

I wouldn't object to a home and home with Tech, but I can think of alot of other OOC teams that I would rather play first. To me, OOC road games are an opportunity for the university to take our fans, particularly the really faithful that pack up the RVS and travel with the team, into consideration. Our fans like to travel, and a trip to Atlanta is just not as exciting as a trip to Los Angeles, Ann Arbor, Austin, or Tallahassee, just to name a few.

Tech and Auburn were supposed to play last year (2004) in the Ga Dome. Auburn backed out of the Tech game after losing to USC and GT to start off the 2003 season.

I think the Atlanta game would most likely be played in the Dome. It's definitely bigger money for GT to do so. Less than 55,000 seats wouldn't be quite enough to fill the demand for that one.

Back to Auburn for a sec;
Ironically, that extra "name" team (Ga Tech) may have helped out their BCS ranking and gotten them into the MNC game last year.

I never will forget...

Coach Bryant's last game at Grant field, against Tech, in 1982 which we won 45-7. I saw Coach walking across the field after the game and he looked exhausted. None of dreamed that he would be gone in less than five months.

I really like the idea as well. I mean, they are in our friggin' fight song, we should play them. They are a pretty solid program and relatively close in proximity, so I say go for it.

....Send those yellow jackets to a watery grave.........RTR
