We took a look at the other match up. I don't think this one is close. Now, LSU has a big OL but we have a massive DL. Oh yeah, not to mention the LBs. who wins this matchup?
They have had injuries and had to shuffle players around. They are solid, but with Upshaw in the mix, we win this matchup handily.
If LSU has to resort to this, that's not a good sign. Not that I don't think they can do it, but it would be out of character. I think in order to win, you have to do what you do. LSU runs the ball. I think LSU can run the ball on Bama better than anyone else has so far. I also think Bama can run the ball better against LSU better than anyone has so far. Neither team has faced another like the one they'll face Saturday. After this game, only then will all these stats matter. Comparing lines by weight is silly. One team relies more on speed, the other on power.Looks like LSU will be healthy for the big day but if we can't slow your D line then we'll need to move to quick screens and short passes over the middle. J Lee has been effective in this arena albeit never against a D as strong as Bama.
Hey Unc,,,,, about those drag routes over the middle.... It has worked for some teams early against us. Everybody has shied away from them later in the games because the ran out of WRs. Check the game film for yourself. Our safeties have some sort of attitude about these routes and it looks painful to the untrained eye..
