We got plenty of bad press in the offseason and then 2 weeks before the season the media randomly dished out some rat poison about this team.

Well I don’t disagree with being ranked 13, but that’s not what I meant. This is the playoff era, and the traditional polls are meaningless now. The real rankings don’t come out until November.

When was the last time we were out of the top 10 during the season?

I don't know, but it is well deserved. I'm not happy to say it, but it is certainly true.

Thankfully, we only need to be a Top 4 team the 2nd weekend in December. Plenty of talent. Plenty of time for the team to develop its own identity.

One thing that we don't have this season that we've had in past seasons where we could basically just roll the helmet onto the field and win by 20, is continuity. In almost every position group, we have new starters or guys who haven't played a ton of football. They're learning on the job. This is a week to week deal. As such...regardless of how it looks, if this team keeps winning, they'll still be in a position to accomplish every goal they set out at the start of the season.

Today Sagarin has Bama #3. Massey has Bama #8 and ESPN FB Power Index has Bama #4. Obviously Sagarin and FPI are rating according to talent rather than coaching.
