Bama Game Thread: Bama PostGame Thread - Bama vs. OU...

This. Dump as much NIL $ as it takes to bring in some animals for the OL and then hire someone who can actually coach them. Bad OL was going to cost us a game at some point, and today was the day.
Take Vandy's example...seniors, Grads etc...experience

That was a tough loss. Glad we had a hockey game here in Pensacola tonight. I needed to calm down. Hate to lose that game. After the first drive in the second half, they made the adjustments, and our O did not. Tough, tough loss

If this was loss #1, I’d be more accepting. There are games like this where mistakes against good teams are you’re undoing. But the FSU loss now rears its ugly head, and winning in Jordan Hare against a revitalized Auburn is a must. Maybe that’s the way it should be.

After the LSU and USCe games i felt like we were due a loss. Annoyed but not really upset by it.
It would be nice to have a game were we just come out and dominated from the get go. Seems like everygame is a nailbiter last second win.

Coaches seem to lack the killer instinct...we are more focused on shortening the game vs moving the ball...haven't done the math but I would think our second half scoring is way less than the first half ...194-123 per Chatgpt...lol

Five or six of the teams we’ve played have been ranked! Beat Tennessee by 17! LSU by 11! I mean what games are you watching?

I mean, several of those games went down to the last minute. Mizzou, USCe, LSU was sticking with us for awhile. Pulled away from Vandy in the 4th.
This aint a critique againts them i just wanna relax with a big lead lol.

Frustrating and bizarre loss. Dominated the stat sheet apart from the turnovers, which were back-breaking and 100% the difference in the game. Uncharacteristic of this team, and possibly at least partially the result of the absolute gauntlet of a schedule they’ve faced.

That said, if I had to pick a loss between this game and Auburn, I’d pick this one every time. Especially a loss of the bizarre variety, which tend to happen in Lee County regularly.

Win the Iron Bowl in two weeks and we almost certainly head to Atlanta if my math is correct. If we beat Auburn (and that’s certainly an “if”) then we finish with the following:

- Double-digit wins
- Wins against all three major rivals
- Road win against Georgia
- A likely trip to Atlanta with a guaranteed playoff spot on the line

That, folks, is a fantastic season in my book and anything above that would be gravy. I might be in the minority on that, but I felt for a long time that a return from the stratosphere was inevitable when Saban retired. Honestly I’m pretty happy that, to this point, said return means that we are a good team that plays hard, wins most of its games and can beat anyone - and that it hasn’t meant a return to the Dubose era. For those of you who think that’s what this is, you either didn’t experience it or you don’t remember it. Dubose had a losing overall record after two seasons and was 2-4 against major rivals. If we win out, CKD will have a 76% win rate, a 5-1 record against major rivals and most likely a trip to Atlanta - all of which basically mirrors Saban’s first two seasons at Bama, come to think of it.

Still sore about the loss today, but it is what it is. This team has been so resilient and they still have a lot to play for, so my gut tells me they’ll bounce back.

Meanwhile Georgia is up 28-10 over #10 Texas in the 4th Qtr.
And? What does that have to do with anything? This is the second year of rebuilding a team that Saban left in decline.

The defense is obviously ahead of schedule, and the offensive issues are exacerbated by a struggling offensive line.

If Alabama wins out, they're in the playoff. This isn't the end of the world.

However, the over-reliance on the quarterback is a glaring issue. I know the running game isn't great, but this was the same issue as last year against Oklahoma. Oklahoma only had about 200 yards. It wouldn't take much offense to beat them.

However, Ty was responsible for 50 plays on offense, that's basically as much as Oklahoma ran. This compared to 24 hand offs. That's not a reliable recipe for success, especially if you have someone running the system like Milroe instead of Ty, or any less reliable QB.

Mind you, I get what Ty is capable of, but in this scenario they could have leaned less on Ty, and at the same time given less points to Oklahoma. It wasn't the only path forward, it's just the only path forward for the way this offense is run.

Great post, but I would add that the team was trending downward WITH Saban at the helm.

UGA has rolled Stockton out a bunch...i think we could do that with Ty more to relieve pressure plus he is a threat to run a bit....staying in the pocket makes him a target

Alabama doesn’t get the luxury of an Ohio State or Indiana type schedule especially when we keep facing teams coming off bye weeks. And now the SEC thinks we’re better off moving to a nine game conference schedule next year.

Stop that non-sense. Saban’s last season was his best coaching job yet.

12-2. SEC Champs. Ended Georgia’s hopes for a 3-peat. Made the 4 team playoff. One play away from playing for another NC.

…all with Milroe at QB.

This is DeBoer’s team, not Saban’s.

Edit: “Rebuilding”…..wow. 😂

We wasted a great defensive effort and another outstanding game from Cuevas.

Ty made some mistakes and the Heisman and first round draft talk should stop. He consistently underthrows the deep ball.

Our roster will benefit from some addition by subtraction again this offseason. We've got some highly paid guys not earning their money.

The laissez faire clock management at the end of the first half cost us dearly. We wasted time and forced ourselves into a FG try that no one had any confidence in.
I thought the same thing right before halftime. DeBoer had been pretty good at using all of the first half up to this point, but I’d love to hear why that wasn’t the case tonight. Counting on field goals can always cost you a game, but when Talty’s kicking it’s a fools errand.
