Bama vs A&M

It will be a good game. Despite his behavior and attitude, that team isn't going to quit on him. He is like Cam Newton, in that the team's success hinges on his ability to play. They will hang with him and put up with his antics until they start losing. Since they will not lose this week, I think we need to be prepared for a very good A&M team.

That being said, as soon as they lose, you will see that team begin to unravel. And you will see Manziel unravel as well. There was a time when I would have felt sorry for him because its obvious his parents failed him in his upbringing. At this point, though, he is a grown man capable of making his own decisions.

As for our game, I believe we will be ready and will come out looking much like we have in other revenge games under Coach Saban. I don't believe the OL is as bad as it looked against Va Tech. Ultimately the game will hinge on who wins the LOS and turnovers.

Our D will be tired because of an inept O. It will not be the D's fault! I hope I am WRONG. I saw nothing from the offense that makes me think they will be clicking in 2 weeks.

That is because you were watching the wrong thing. You should have been watching atm's defense against Rice. And what you were watching was not Bama's offense against atm's defense. VT has one. atm doesn't.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I agree that we saw nothing from the offense - nothing like I expect to see against TAMU...

If you think the offense was bad despite all efforts to be good, then you also need to acknowledge some serious problems with coaching and playcalling. I don't think Crisotbal, Nuss and Saban are that incompetent or stupid, and that leaves us with the only conclusion remaining - the offense indeed struggled but the playcalling purposely put them in a hole, in order to teach them because the coaches knew we had the game well in hand.

The fact is we will need offensive effectiveness even if our defense plays well. They're too explosive to expect to hold them under 20. They have the skill talent to bust one mistake with more regularity than VT demonstrated. Our target has to be 31 points or more because I think a good day on defense might still result in 21-28 points from the aggies.

Offensive efficiency is a key to keeping them off the field and they will take defensive risks to force turnovers and negative plays just like VT. So that is the core of out gameplan to me: 30 points, no turnovers, and high 3rd down conversion to increase TOP.

I was able to watch some of the am/rice game. I am not worried it the least bit about our upcoming game with them. Our d will contain manziel just fine, and if the rice game was any indication, manziels mouth and temper will cost a and m. I am willing to bet that most officials are not going to give him a lot of leeway after the way he showed his butt against rice.

What was going on when one of the refs actually grabbed Manziel's collar/shoulder pads and pointed him to the sideline? I've seen it several times this morning on ESPN.

He is one self absorbed dude, but dangerous on the field. I hope some of you are right and our offense has a plan, because they sold out to stop the run last year and did a good job of it (compared to other teams we played). I think Bama wins, but the offense has to put pressure on Moneyziel and company.

Something is telling me not to worry about the offense at all. I'm not saying conspiracy or strategic play calling for the next game, but the total lack of worry from the staff and players during and after the game set off something in the ole noggin.

Bear in mind TAMU had five defensive starters suspended for the whole game and one starter for a half. So at this point about all you can say about their defense is the backups aren't very good.

I'm not sure. We were watching it in a noisy bar so I was just seeing it. My brother and I were both blown away by how mouthy he was being in that game. We just kept saying "dude, it's rice"

this game is key to another title. if we lose i doubt there will be another chance to win a title
like the last two years. i really felt great about beating texas a&m, and now i am hoping the
off line will be ready to hit the field and play smash mouth football. i have not been down on our offense as much as this last game. sure, first game against a average football team, sure, we have three new starters on the offense and freshmen backing up yeldon. i just, dont understand how they could so bad, even though many say heir defense is a strong defense. this is the same defense that had trouble last season. they physically whipped our guys up front the whole game, it was so bad, our backs didnt even make it to the line and they were hit. and then our backs including yeldon did not block for aj. it was a nightmare on offense. i am tired of the spoiled brat, but, he is quite the college qb. he has experience a defense that controls him instead of him controlling the other team. i really believe our guys will have to stay in their lanes at all risks to prevent his cutback runs. keep him in the pocket as much as possible. i feel our linebackers, and secondary are good enough to cover downfield. take away mike evans and will have a problem. i still believe if
wasnt for that first touchdown on his fumble their first series we would have beaten them the rest of the game. well, i really want this game for all of us, and the team. our prestige would be increased by bringing down johnny "the brat" manziell. amazing, how little talk is about his team, even from us.

I was walking around fan day Saturday and wasn't able to watch all of A&M's game. Did Johnny throw a pass longer than 10 yards? All 3 of his TD's were 10 yard passes or less where the receiver ran the rest of the way.

I don't like the performance from the OL and my angle at the game wasn't good enough to evaluate what all went on, but from what I heard it was a combination of numbers missed blocks. I'm sure the staff will be all over them this week. Also, our play calling was SUPER bland. Phelon Jones was on Twitter saying that you could call pretty much all of our plays. I'm sure it won't be that way in two weeks.

I'm not worried about the D. A&M had an amazing quarter last season and got 29 points in the game. I would hope that we can keep them in the 17-21 range this year.

I feel our defense will be ready for Manziel, but we better not discount Malena. He is super quick and really hard to tackle. I hope our team was looking ahead against Va Tech.

Was it me or did this whole game and the buzz leading up to it seem a little off? Maybe it was the weird start time, maybe it was the commentators. I really had to remind myself it was the same venue as the Bama/UGA game last year. It just didn't have the same feel as other debuts.

Not worried about the run defense.
